Yeah, the more it smiles, the more you can truss it.

However, I do like those tubes though, that's a great idea if you have the tooling.

I am an 8.8 fan but I think that is a waste of time... but I guess if you have the tooling

put it to uses on something else.

I shaved a 80 a few years ago, lots of work. I think this guy made a mistake by using the .5" wall DOM for tubes. Shaving a diff by nature makes it weaker. Putting those tubes in makes the only place for the axle to give is the diff itself. Doing this concentrates all of the stress in the weakest spot.
Bad idea IMHO. He did do a nice clean job on it though.
