Thoughts on 3 link

Let me rephrase that. The trailer needs tons of work and welded back together and the buggy is in shambles. Tow rig is nice though.. :)

Its been a while since I built the 3 link on the taco. Be sure to make sure the top link runs downhill at least slightly from your frame mount to axle mount. I also had the bottom links at a little bit of triangulation as well.

Why not do a 4 link instead? Is it a space issue?

The reason I ask is that I do not see a way to have 2 uppers without buying new headers and redoing tons of stuff. All I'm looking for is a solid trail rig to beat up on from time to time.

I don't know if you remember much of the taco front end, but it was 3 linked. The upper was dead center top of the chunk. If I remember right, the lowers were pretty much straight.

Yes Brock I remember repairing your 3 link. But as to its design not so much.

Matt I remember helping weld up your links and sliders but as to the design process not so much. I will look harder at it in the next few days. I pick up my son today and have him for a week and have family co.i g to town so today is out. But my son will motivate me this week I hope.

Mo has been a huge encouragement in the background and I am thank for for this. **** will come together one way or another.

Oh and John G be trolling like a mofo! :****: molaugh :rolf:

Whatever you build just beef it up, your rig is heavy (that is not a bad thing...just build accordingly)

Like it. Don't know if you are already dead set on that link tab at the frame for the lower links?

I would recommend chassis tabs with a long base or gusset the wee out of those. I have ripped those off a frame after about a year of wheeling.

Other question is if you have room for an upper link on the drivers side with a D shaft and headers, why don't you have room for an upper link on pass side as well to make a triangulated 4 link?

Steering box is what makes my jeep go down the highway at 65 mph with one hand on the wheel. No exaggeration there.

That's pretty impressive. I go full hydro on everything, but I don't drive any of my crawlers on the road. I guess that's why I've had my 42's that are on my ranger for 10 years. Trailer baby!!

This is the first of five offroad jeeps and one samurai I have had that has hydro assist. The rest had full hydro. If the rig was something that wasn't as clean and streetable I would have full hydro. It's is perfect for trips to lowbudgetjunks booze dispensery.

Nothing is set in stone. just checking options. Also every tab will be either tied into the chassis via gussets or some structural dom tubing.
