Last couple of days have been a real ***** getting all the crap in order and trying to make things happen. deals have been set in stone and payments made on a killer deal I feel I got...I have paid $3500 for two vehicles a 89 bonestock sr-5 4runner 3.0 automatic in damn excellent condition, and a serious 85 4runner with the following stats which work nice with what I have to add to it....the 85 4runner

this was built from the top down where my 4runner was built from the bottom up with longfilds, 5.29:1, arb locker, lockrite, new knuckles, total brake rebuilt, 63" chevy, bilstiens and much much more....so we meet in the middle with a killer trail rig....

Come to find out that the donor rig had a broken tranny case, but went ahead with the sale anyway...

pics to follow very soon....

Still getting all togather at one place for the build but things are looking good now that most of the stuff is in my control, the way I like it....

pics and much more to follow

The vehicles are all picked up, and the 16 x 30 garage is paid for and the rebiuld has started...I have pics to follow but to late to post tonight...update on the donor 85, the th350 has a busted bell housing/case and am plannning on buying a create K tpye 4x4 th350 for $475.00 freshly rebuilt...The extra 89 is a v6 with a busted auto tranny as well, this has been sold already. the wrecked 85 is in the shop, waiting to be worked on as well as the shop being created....

is this one going to cost another 15 grand?:corn:

to your question....no, I am to take the best from both rigs and make the final rig, what I should put up is the info on the wrecked 85 and will make sense. what I was lacking this rig has, what the donor was lacking I have, so it is a perfect situation to have the best of both worlds meeting to make a killer offroad rig...I will put up the specs soon as well as the pics...just gimme a little time...

Its a carb. Go pane or injection. If you dont do it from the get go...you will eventually.

x34

Even with a great Quadra-jet, fuel pressure regulator, and tweaked floats my carb shows its weakness from time to time.

I have heard of nothing but issues with the Holley carb you have.

Taking a look at the front end while the 85 was on the trailer, we had to cut the push/pull steering off and pull forward a steering rod to make it so we could manually steer it at the wheel to get it on.

These photos show how we used a snatch block, my trailer and a Jeeps winch to pull it on the trailer. I want to thank all the guys at Billy Bobs Offroad for pitching in and helping get this moved, I went to also thank them for pulling all the expensive parts and tools, GPS and other things from the inside of the wreck , box them all up for me and keeping them safe inside the shop...These guys are a class act of friends to us all, Thanks very much guys.

Well we got her on the trailer no problems, getting it off the trailer we had to muscle it into the garage but did finally get her set to be worked on. We then headed down to get the donor vehicle in McCleary WA. The trip was uneventful except when we got there, the rail that had held out finaly came down on us in buckets, I got a few pictures but after a few it was useless to try and had to help get the donor up on the trailer.

Now I know she aint pretty, and some already have ideas and suggestions, but in the long run I will, with much research and study find the best path for my project, and hope not to piss some of the thinner skinned ones off

considering the builds meet at the axles this is where I am to start...I am to keep both of my axles considering both are built to the brakes on each....for the rear I am to take his chromoly axles and swap out the stock axles, so in the rear will be 5.29:1 R/P with lock rite locker, chromoly axles, new bearings inner/outer, and new brakes

front axles will be 5.29:1 R/P with ARB air locker, long fields axles, longfield birfs, longfields hubs. new brakes and totaly rebuilt knuckles...Plus he has hy-steer already plumbed in so add it with the ifs steering box and the front is set....

keeping his suspention, 4" in the front and 58" in the rear and 2 " body lift because of the 350CI motor, will make this work with what I have, to include extended shock mounts

Working on the new tranny

Keeping the 350, which is a 79 Irok a very well built engine, but need to clean it up alot.

exterior is gone front clip, hood to doors, got door panel skins and willl make her good looking in the end....

gonna lose the 63 " rear springs, the front 3.5" skyjacker springs....I may have the hulk and drive train sold to a guy with a vision of tubing the rest, we will see if his money is were his mouth is....

well looks good on paper, let me get it working and see where I end up...

how much for the springs and front bumper off the donor?

those springs are to be used by me as the front bumper, you are taking about the all pro front with a winch mount, that will be $85.00 pulled and you pick up...

if they're both straight I'll take them. PM me an address and time that works for you on friday saturday or sunday.

i had a buddy whos carbed jeep wouldnt even go over a curb without sputtering. he bought a new holley truck avenger bolted it on right out of the box,and didnt have any issues. the thing could almost be vertical, and it was still running idling.
i know efi,or propane is the way to go. but if this has a carb why not wait and do other things for now?

hey steve if it the sale for the allpro falls through, give me a call and I'll come grab it from ya. :awesomework:

Looking good. Time to take it back to Jeff and have him cage it right..?
