toyota e-locker issue

Hi

2001 Toyota Tacoma with TRD package.

The rear differential lock light is flashing and will not go off even with the lever in the 2wd position.

It is a rapid ON flash.

When I got the truck, it had a different problem with a switch in the rear differential system and it had a different flash that was even between its ON and OFF cycles. It would also stop flashing when shifted to 2wd. That problem was fixed.

I now have a different issue and I am not sure what it is. The truck does not seem to behave as if it were locked when in 2wd.

Any ideas what is going on? I have searched the webz and can find plenty of discussions about the locker not engaging.

I would pull the motor and cycle it. Double check the index on the locking mechanism

It was bound up and needed to be reset. All fixed now.

Once in a great while mine will not lock or unlock. Its usually off a hair and I end up removing the actuator and cycling it a few times to make sure its working fine, then Lock it and slide the rack/fork for the engage ALL the way to the lock position and then reinstall it.

Presto.
