So this last weekend I finally lost any braking I had on my trailer. I knew one drum had blown the linings off the shoes but I felt zero brakes..

So I need to replace some brake parts but I am unsure how to measure for replacement parts (compare fully loaded backing plates vs. shoes.).

ANy input would be great.

Napa sells loaded backing plates with shoes. Don't they go by drum diameter like most vehicles?

Drum diameter and shoe width.

I took my old shoes to napa and the hooked me up. It was half the price to replace just the shoes vs loaded backing plates.

Ok drum diameter and shoe width makes sense..

so looks like 10x2.25....

I am going to price parts out and go from there. The backing plates are pretty rusted along with all the hardware.

6 Robblies sells complete loaded backing plates for pretty reasonable...way better than Napa could ever sell 'em for.

I buy all my trailer parts through 6 robbles. They have almost everything instock, or they can in 24hrs.
