Those of you who have either tossed a factory column or never had one--what material are you running thats held up? I am guessing 5/8" solid rod?

Whichever you'd like to go with either 5/8" or 3/4" .090 or .120 wall. You can guy it from speedwaymotors.com pretty cheap with a kit that includes all the heims, u-joints etc you could need.

3/4 is a lot more common and easier to get the steering joints as well as the hub adapters 5/8 seems a bit small to me.

Ok so 3/4 over 5/8. Thanks for the input--gives me something more to work on.

WT--I looked and didn't find any "kits" persay.

They have lots of kits in their catalog for steering columns etc. Online they have just the parts. Lemme dig up a catalog and see if there is a part number for the whole shebang in there. :D

Here are some pics of what I like.

I like the enclosed shaft appearance. 3/4 .120 inner shaft bronze bushings in the ends and a 1.25 or 1.5 .120 outer shaft/column
