Buildig a skid for the bottom of my Sami, every one I talk to says to go with UHMV. Rig weighs roughly 2500# with me and a passenger.

My question is what thickness and best way to fasten it? Or should i scratch the idea and go with metal?

Love my uhmw skid backed by .250 AL sheet. One option is to countersink some holes in it and through bolt it to some tabs on preferably the inside of your frame rails. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NHn-QZDa_Lo

You can put a piece of 3/16 ar 400 for a skid for less money, and easier to install, and it is so hard it will not bend and is slick to slide over rocks.

Can you send me some pics of how yours is on your zuki.

Here's a pic of mine. 1/8" mild steel plate with some dimples under the 3/8" UHMW. 4 3/8" bolts hold everything together, does great.
