for now... my '87 toyota is a 2-tone (white/maroon) stock standard cab. That will change soon so I can proceed to blow up some diffs and birfs, and axle shafts, and knuckle studs. That's ok though... my motor will run 'til 400k most likely. Actually I have a buddy w/ an '80 toy at 650k and runnin stong. But that is an outlier of data; not to be accounted for in the grand scheme of things, because that is absolutely insane.

I dont think your doing apples to apples

I saw you tried to compare birf to a dana 60,, well yes bobby has compared stock 30 spline 60's to his new aftermarket birf and they were very close to the same strength.. but throw a chromo 35 spline 60 in the mix and no chance

daam thats a tuffy the, 22R compared to the 4.0 or 4.2, I would take the 4.0 over the 22r for the power. WOuld take a 22R over a 4 cyl heep motor. But why not drop in a 4.3 and be better off over all of those:flipoff: .Of course lots would say just step up to a V8 also:redneck: .

Stock to stock or after market dose not matter on the 30 35 or 44. and as far as the 60 it's close to the 35 spline shaft not the 30 and the cromo has more twist in degrees and the stub broke not the birf:D

We have been there dont that, and just advise as we have learned. It is a process of evolution as they will get there too someday. If I could have started with the almighty 60 I would have saved alot of cash.:mad:
