Mechanical and electric temp sensors. One for the gauge and one for the fan would be my guess.
If you get the good Derale trans cooler with fan it has that thermoswitch and coupler included.
The temp gauge sender is in the anodized block and the thermo switch is in the small, natural fitting.
I wire my thermoswitch into a dash light also so it signals when cooling fan is on.
Exactly, the noise of the rig, trail, other rigs, ect make it tough to hear.Ya I could tell by the wire going to the gauge :redneck:
I never thought of doing it to the light since I think I will mount mine under the chassis so I might not be able to hear it when it runs.
