What to Use to Clean a TBI Unit?

Hi All:

Piecing together a GM TBI system. A friend helped me pull a 4.3L injector set at the pull-a-part lot this afternoon.

The top of the throttle body is covered in soot/dirt/grease. What is a safe but efficient cleaning agent for fuel injection parts like these?

Carb cleaner. I would remove the IAC and TPS before spraying it down.

I use carbon cleaner first to break any big stuff down then carb cleaner.

These are both electrical devices mounted to the TB. The IAC is on the passenger side towards the rear and has a squarish plug on it. The whole thing unscrews fron the TB. The TPS is the thing on the end of the throttle shaft opposite from the throttle linkage....It PROBABLY wouldn't hurt them to leave them on but it could hurt them if the cleaner got inside them.
