I was sitting here trying to figure out where exactly was the first place I joined that was 4x4 related online. As far as I remember it was the Toyota4x4 mailing list hosted by Offroad.com back in the day.
Even found part of it still online when I searched. :haha:

Where was the first place you found online?

I ran over my Apple IIE w/ my wheeler but I'm not sure Al Gore had invented the Intardnet yet so I may have been a wheeling pioneer.:redneck:

Someone emailed me a link to a picture of the Scorpion when it first came out. I clicked on the picture and it took me to Pirate4x4. That was way back in 2002.

I registered on pirate the first time as member # 5759. Then snort4x4. I was Bunk85 back then.

About two years ago, looking for lift kits and info on lift kits for my Nissan. Then somehow made it to Joop's site, then made it over here.

Not far after you did dan. I wasn't on the toyota mailing list but I was on the nw list and then took it over for eric when he got out of it. That was before the days of any forums and I think it was even before offraod.com had there forum up an running....

Hmmm I was on black flag and a couple other random wheeling/toyota sites probably about 2000 or 2001. I know I was surfing PBB in late 2000 but was too scared to get called names by people I didn't know and would likely never meet so I didn't join until 2003 right after I joined my first "large" BBS, Marlincrawler.com and built some confidence. :haha:

That cracks me up...

I didn't even know there was a forum... I was in the photo gallery checking out other people's rigs and posting my pics for a year before I even noticed the forum button...:redneck:

When I finally signed up to the forum, I felt like I already knew everyone...

"A picture says a thousand words", Bull****... Nobody turned out the way I expected...:haha:

I have made some great friends though... People that my family and I consider as family...

I'm still on the fence, whether I like these places or not...:fawkdancesmiley:

There were a couple three mailing lists back in the day. I think the first one I was on was the IHC digest in like 97 give or take. 4x4 NW after that. First web site was Binderbulletin then I think Pirate member 1684.....

Summer of '97, the LCML - Land Cruiser Mailing List. 100+ messages a day was HUGE back then.

I think I found the 4x4nw list some time in 1998?

I knew Clarence (Jeepasaurus) from the AOL Car chat days. He told me about Snort4x4 back in 99 or 2000? I was GrandJeepinfool back then.

I can't remember if that name is still on there or if I had it changed.. definitely don't remember the password though. So I haven't been back in quite a while.

Therangerstation.com (the old one) then LJ10.com which led me to Wazuks, which led me here.

wheeling funny rocks with the Xs family they told me about insanityfab then i found this place.ive known people on here for years.its fun to watch youtube and see what your buddy did this weekend.

First 4x4 site was wattora.
First forum was club4ag in '98

I remember being a member of a 4-wheeling website in the mid to late 90s. I was a member of the SNORT board back in the day (is it even still up? haven't checked). I'm member #56 here. I'm also a member on several other wheeling, racing, hunting etc websites. :corn:

First place was Pirate, simply for the tech section. Even though I was a member, I'd never posted anything, and didn't use the forum. Long since forgotten that username.

First place I ever posted was Snort, got hooked in my Amanda (olllllllo). Posted a bit there, but really got sucked in here. Have a few post on Pirate now (still TreeClimber there). Had a handful of posts over on Jon's site, but when he crashed the browser, it deleted me.

98 binder list hosted by offroad.com or something like that then, pirate May 2001, snort Mar 2003 then here Mar 2006.

i never really did the forum thing just got online found the parts or info i was looking for but then somehow my parts search stumbled me into snort4x4 then i came here then pirate 4x4

the funny thing is i still use snort but last week when i posted a thread on there someone replied "Just use NW-Wheelers there is much more going on there" i have no complaints

however i wish i knew how to get rid of the stupid Thornbird rocks slogan under my name and knew how to upload pics on here

Man, I had to go look... I've been on Pirate since 7/2/01. WOW. I started when quadratec had their own board, then Jeeps Unlimited, then have stuck to more of the local stuff like SNORT, my board (PNWJEEP) and here.

I joned Snort in 2000ish??? Pirate about the same time, then here after a long vacation from the internet, and have been a lurker until the last couple weeks. It does feel good to be back though!:beer::beer:
