winch problems

My winch runs,the cable goes in and out,but has no power to pull a load.I had the battery tested and it's fine.Any ideas,Its a x8000i warn,:booo:

Same thing just happened to mine (xd900i), I took the winch in and had the motor tested and it was toast. New motor is on the way

Did you spool the cable on correctly? Are you SURE? Better go check......:;

Is your winch grounded directly to the battery, or is it grounded through the frame? Those flimsy factory grounding straps fail quickly when pulling the amps required to run a winch. I have a cable going directly from the battery ground to the winch casing. :redneck:

I guess I'm the only one to have spooled their cable on backwards.:booo:

We had to spool a buddies backwards after it stopped going in...:redneck:

Just free spooled it out and ran it in backwards to get him off the trail...
