XJ stuck in snow with zero power!!!

Through trial and error I have learned when wheeling alone, it is better to ere on the side of caution. Take it easy, have fun; it's not so much about the hardcore wheeling as it is just being out.

Winner winner chicken dinner. Sometimes I just leave in the middle of the night and go on a nice easy run just to get out. I am always careful and have plan to get out. Honestly I enjoy my solo runs more than any others because it's on me to get home. It's a sense of accomplishment in my boring ass safe life. Sometimes it's what I need as a man. Kinda like the dude in the Viagra commercial. :D

I've rescued a **** ton of people over the years on these runs so I figure karma is on my side.

This was my brothers plan. The trail they were on can be done in a stock fullsize when the snow is gone. The snow in North Idaho changes the whole thing. What he did was stick his front right tire between a log and a stump wedging it in. It was to slick to drive out of, and then shorted out the Jeep with his busted ass winch. Even when out to play in the "light" wheeling trails **** can happen. If it had been just his and his buddy then no big deal. The truth of the matter is he had is young daughters with him. That's what made this a dumb move.

That's part of good planning. I don't take my kids on solo snow wheeling trips. We'll go for drives but nothing a stock rig can't do (like green dots) and avoid places that are out of cell phone reception for long stretches. Sometimes that means turning around early and not trying something that looks fun.

Ya that's what he claimed he was doing. The trail he was on can be done in any stock rig, even a full size with no snow. He had cell reception, but everyone he called was working more then 1 hour away or did not pick up, hence why he called me. I am not going to pretend that I have not been up solo in the snow, but I did not have my kids with me at the time. In the end it was 100% avoidable and 100% dumb. Now he knows.
