buddy has a 91 PU with a bad 3.0. the machine shop ruined the block. can he use a 89 block under the 91 heads, intake ect?? thanks:hi:

89 block has different moder mount bosses cast into the block.

A good ghetto fabber can make it work, but a shop in town will cry the blues until you get them the right parts.

I have a friend at a wrecking yard that has a theroy about 89 engines. He claims they are a better/tougher moder than the newer ones. He says they list 89 only cuz of the mount. He says the sell 90+ 3.0s as fast as they come in but have had two 89s in stock for over three years.

Dont know if theres any truth to it or not, just his observations. :beer:

i modified my motor mounts to fit it wasn't bad used a tourch it was quick(i had 92 i used 90 block and heads). The driveside mount requires a small knotch for oil cooler hose, pass the a/c mount conflicts. Make sure you have the motor mount the that belongs to the block you use.
