WHEN WAS THE FIRST TIME YOU WHEELED REITER!!!!!!!

I am feeling a little nostalgic with the new test run for Reiter on the 17th, and was curious to see when everyones first trip to Reiter was.

I missed what sounds like the best years of wheeling at Reiter since I got out of the game in 1999-2000 but I still have great memories there even though the wheeling wasn't great during my time [my first time was 1980] it was just a fun place to go play, I look forward to the new Reiter no matter how challenging the trails are.

Ahh good times. 1995 and I was 5 years old. Dad took me wheeling and attempted to teach me to drive a beat old mechanical clutch CJ (which he still wheels to this day). MY first time wheeling Reiter with my own rig was a **** fest of brokenness....cherocars are horrible....

My first time was 1982 on my first quad....

First time wheeling was probably 1991...

Didn't do much since there wasn't much up there 4x4 related at the time but around 94' we started making new stuff and we blasted the first washout on top of izzy....

That sounds about right Crash, it was the mid 90's when we started making some new trails up there [with the approval from DNR] but nothing close to the vids I have seen from the mid 2000's.

It is time for the new and I look forward to it!!!!!

I moved here in 88'. I didn't wheel Rieter at first, I rode dirt bike up there, I think it was around 93'. I wheeled the first time there in 96'.

Probably,,,,,,,maybe,,,10 years ago,,,and probably never again,lol...don't have a daily driver to the trails...oh yes again I do,,huh,my Subaru..!

Hi All:

Lake Isabele trail in the mid-1990s, hit it even more after the Shaw Lake trail (off of Sultan Basin Road) was closed to 4x4s.

Regards,

Alan

First time was as a kid with my Dad's club in'85 or'86. First time in my own rig was in my CJ-5, shortly after moving to Everett, and starting at Randy's in'98.

My first time was I think 2004.. This video has a few people in here if you know voices and rigs. Bunk, Lincolnlock, I think NotMatt is here, oIIIIIo, and sixt-nine (Joe) is in it too.

I think I wheeled there once in the early 90's. I don't remember much detail from back then.

Then about a decade later took the kid there to ride dirt bikes when he was little. Then hit it back up fairly often the last couple years it was open.

That last Halloween was epic. Still pissed it got shut down.

The first time I went to reiter was 2001-2002. It was before I had a vehicle so I rode with a friend in his SOA samurai on 31s. I think it was the first or second time up there my friend managed to destroy his tie rod and then get his rig stuck on the side of the trail. The other rig we were with ditched us. This was on a sunday and we didn't get his samurai out of the trail until wednesday. Its amazing that it sat up there untouched for almost three days.

MANY rescues up there over the years and met some nice folks doing so......

I remember driving my old VW rabbit up around the wall trail in the snow in the late 80's. Guys on dirt bikes were giving us the 'WTF' look. The earliest 4x4 expedition ended with me and a buddy nose first in what I believe was the "tank trap", or one of the bigger puddles, up near the wall, at about the same time, late 80's, in an S10 with a failed front axle vacuum connect. I seem to remember getting pulled out by someone. Always late at night for some reason. Kids :shaking:

I didn't dump any garbage, but I'm pretty sure I was one of the punks I like to complain about now :haha:

I wheeled there twice in 2001. Then returned to the area a couple times in 2009. Just when I discovered the wealth of the trail system there, they closed it down.

First time was with my dad in the early 70s when the power lines were put in and then with my first 4x4 in the early 80s. Built a lot of trail in the late 80s and stopped wheelin to raise my family in the early 90s.
I remember the loop road that you would go up dear flats road and then drop down into Index

I was 16 in 2003 and went to reiter for my first time with my bone stock '92 cherokee. Wheeled a couple trails and got my first ever body damage on my driver front door. :redneck:

Late 70's with my dad doing a 3wheeler trip. First run in my truck was in 93

I want to say it was 88 or 89 wheeling a full size one ton dually through Beaver pond. It was a loop trail back then.

First time there was in the early 70's for a poker run put on by Everett MC. Took my young kids to the wall in a 67 cj5 many times in the early 80's. Ya I know I'm old but enjoyed reiter for a long time before they shut it down. Didn't think I'd miss Reiter much but I was wrong.....boo hoo

Oh god, I remember it was just like yesterday. ... summer of '07

I got pics of that from the 90's and there was a lot more dirt between those rocks.I thought it was weird that the more I made my rig better that obstacle still challenged it more and more until I saw older pics.

I think my first time was around 1977. I was in junior high. I tagged along with my sister an her girl friend. I was riding my little little AMF Harley Davidson mini bike. Still have it out in the shed. Next time was in the mid 80's in the CJ.

02 back with the NW Wheeler's when I had a Jeep YJ. I made it around the first corner before I shoved a stick through the sidewall of the tires. Haven't wheeled with Open Country tires since. :D
