Long story short, my wife and I have had some tough and trying times bringing a healthy baby into this world. But, seeing as shes 7 months along right now, I think this little feller has a chance loller.gif

My wife has had a very tough time settling on a baby name and I'm not much help.

See what y'all think of these:

Jackson Kade

Anthony Zane

Kaden Drake

Kaden Barrett

Hudson Drake

Hudson Rockwell

I hate all these stupid ass names people stick their kids with for life, so if you think they all suck, let us know

Call me biased but I like Hudson Rockwell also. :) And when he is older people will call him Rock for short, how bad-ass is that?

I think the only thing more bad ass would be Hudson Knife. Or Hudson 50-Cal. Or how about just Bad Ass??? Rambo?

I dig Kaden Barrett, anything relating to a .50 cal is badass! :****: Hudson Rockwell is also pretty badass :dblthumb:

....brainstorming idea: Jackson Barrett. Jackson = guitar and of course Barrett = .50 cal

Here's something I'm concerned with because I named my daughter Embry Jules, two non-traditional names. (They are both family names that go back generations, but happen to be nontraditional in general.) We thought it was neat until we went to a birthday party (all white kids) and noticed that the name on every party bag was Colten, Braden, Case, Jackson, etc. There wasn't a single John, Jake, Jane, Amy, or other traditional white name. One of the grandparents even mentioned, "What happened to all the normal names?" That made me start to wonder ... are all these non-traditional names going to end up being this white generation's versions of Shani'qua, Sholandria, Sha Nay Nay, Bon Qui Qui, Shi'thead, etc.? I hope not. Had I realized how many parents these days are moving away from "traditional" names I might have given my daughter at least one just in case.

I dunno, I think it is just a generational thing.

Kinda like I grew up around a bunch of old guys (my granddad's friends) named Herschel, Marvin, Edsel, Leslie, James, etc

Only know of one older guy (over 60) named Nicholas.

But I went to school with 4 Nicholas's (not including me)

:dunno:

I a few years away from some chill'runs but I'm sure they'll get a "normal" name for the times...

FWIW, I think Hudson Rockell is a "good strong name" (as my mom would say...)

Whats your last name? that makes a difference too...

Oh and don't name your kid and then call him his middle name.. That's just asinine and confusing anytime for his whole life.

I know a bunch of people that do that and it's just dumb.

When we had our son on the way, my wife wanted to name him Paul. I told her he needed a more manly name. I suggested Brock Magnus. She asked me what kind of name is Brock Magnus? I told her it was the name of the guy that kicked Paul's ass. We ended up not going with either. It's hard to pick a name. Good luck with it! :drinkers:

Name him Adam Lee.

Maybe he will grow up and be famous? :dunno:

I got to say I have always liked my name! 7 letters = easy to learn and right! I always felt sorry for folks growing up with stupid names and stupid long names! Almost as bad as naming a boy a girl name or vice versa! :dunno:

My son has both non-traditional and traditional. Baylin Joshua.......My first name is Joshua. thumb.gif

For a boy, I think you have to limit it to 5 letters. Once you get to 6 letters its like you tried to hard to church it up.

Hudson Rockwell sounds like he's got a life cut out for him doing porn.

Asking people to help name your kids is a bad idea, or maybe thats just asking family. :dunno:
Names are hard. I suggest picking up a name book, and you write down 10, and you wife writes down 10.

Re: Re: BABY NAMES

Just remember, any smart bully will flip Hudson Rockwell around into Rock Hudson & bring up the aidz & gay drama :fangers:

The first thing I thought of when I read Hudson Rockwell was John Oreilly's porn name in Boogie Nights (Chest Rockwell).

I do like the name Hudson though, just not into the Rockwell part too much.
