Me and the wife are going to Vegas end of next month. Any advice on where we should stay? We have never been there before. We basically plan on drinking a lot, and doing some sight seeing. Neither of us are gamblers. I was looking at New York New York and Paris. Those are the 2 my brother recommended.

We stayed at MGM Grand. It was really nice but is sort of at the end of the strip. So seem like no matter what you wanna see was a trip to travel. Not sure how long you are gonna be there but the double decker was the best all around transportation we found. The monorail is good also but only runs so far. Make sure to check out Freemont and old Vegas down that way.

We stayed at Wynn, wife called and they "comp" her for staying few days and allowed us to do other stuff.

Doesn't hurt to call and ask.... we walked the strip then took Uber to Old downtown to see it, gambling was cheaper.

My wife and i stayed at Mirage when we went. New York new york and paris are probably more toward the middle. We walked alot. Make sure to find out when the casino street/water shows are going on(free). Since you are so close check out Hoover Dam, prolly my favorite thing to see and do the dam tour.

Do you want cheap? Lavish? Right on the heart of the strip? So many options...Dont forget old Vegas, downtown (Fremont St.) Fun experience & really cool too.
The food in Vegas is overrated. Of all the times I been there, I still haven't found a restaurant that I thought was really good.

If you dont care how fancy the hotel is, some of the older hotels right in the heart of the strip will put you where you walk out the door and you're in the middle of the action, plus some of the best drink deals are here as well (in the older casinos)

I don't really care what kind I'm in, but i am a cheap ass,so I will be searching out the cheaper bars. I just don't want to hear the neighbors banging away through the walls,or want crack heads hanging out in the hallway. The wife will probably want something moderately nice though.

Marriott Grand Chateau. Just off the strip so its usually a little cheaper. Rooms are always super clean. It is quieter than most of the strip hotels too but you're essentially a block off the strip behind Planet Hollywood/Miracle Mile Shops.

High rollers. I've never stayed on teh strip. Downtown only for me (3x with the Mint 400, it is all pretty much downtown). Golden Nugget is the best one down there.

Only time I've stayed downtown was Golden Nugget. Very nice.

Mandalay Bay is my favorite place so far. House of Blues is located there and has an appetizer called Voodoo Shrimp that is great. The shrimp and grits are good also. We are out of Vegas early the next morning after arrival on the way to Zion National Park which is 2.5hrs away.
