Some assembly required (A Toyota cab truck rebirth)

Well guys I have a 84 Toyota that I picked up in 07 for 500 bucks with a knock, built a junkyard 20r slapped it in her and started mud whompin. Well about a year of that I started getting into crawling and it was downhill from there. Now it is three link front, .40 over 22r mated to a l52 with duals. Currently sitting on 36" buckshots but looking for a set of reds. With all that being said I have never put any money in it and I will cut corners where I can especially since I started collecting parts for a bouncer. Here are some evolution picks and start of what I am doing now, which is tube backhalf and 4 link rear with 16" fox airs for all corners. So here is the journey through time.

My first attempt at bump n grind, my bootyfab 6" hanger lift kept hanging so I fixed that.

Made it with winch help at the top but lost a rear spring hanger in the process which made for a long night at FFA this past year! uke:




So after all that I was good for sunday and my last trip to Gray Rock :'(
Well the next ride was santa crawls and I had a meeting with hells revenve that resulted in a double ended ram and my first broken axle.







The factory ends in the ram had a spherical bearing pressed into cast and I wasn't about to trust welded cast in my steering so I fixed that problem too.

Well I wheeled it some more and sold my atv for a bit of cash to do a backhalf and Put it on foxes.


And so it begins



Got my fuel cell out and the radiator

Trimming the fat



Couple caps for the frame rails.




Rear axle cleaned up

Caps in place ready to be welded.



Welded up and ground smooth


And that is where I am at for now.

I like it. Wish I had gone the cheap route longer, rather than thinking I had skills and money to back them up. ;D

Seats seem to fit good

Thanks Neal, I can't wait to ride in those seats! But back to the build, got some tubing today!

Went to the circletrack racers auction tonight and picked up some goodies. Battery box for $20




Got some brake line parts for $40




And a couple led tail lights for bling :afro:

Well I am going to start off by saying any man that can rough a cage out in a day is a badass in my book! Took my first venture in bending tube tonight and doing it by myself probably didnt help either but this is what I accomplished in 5 hours. Not including building the bender frame that started at 10am, and I am by no means a pro but I can fab something up pretty quick but everything I did was a pain and would not go my way.

Screwed up on my measurement some how ??? but I made it work in the long run.























And that was my extremely humbling experience bending tube, more to come tomorrow!

Where dud you get the bender and how much was it

The bender belongs to one of my friends, and he ordered it off line. We could have gotten away with just buying dies and building the rest.

I'm starting to get the hang of it and it's turning into something which is helping too but here is what I got done this evening.



For some reason this tube was a bitch and I have no clue why, guess because I had to make a janky stand and lay it out with levels to get measurements. And if anyone has any tips for bending they would be greatly appreciated because I am doing this by myself and got my cherry on this project.











This took a little time to figure out but went pretty fast when I got an Idea on where my cross bar needed to be.
