it was about being on a car to begin with numb nuts
Maybe you need to get your self on a CAR wheeling site then numb nuts.
This thread proves yet again that you and chop shop are ****ing idiots.

Turbo :awesomework:
I voted supercharger cuz I grew up around hotrods, not because they are the best.
I will never own a rig with a turbo unless its a deisel. a 55chev hardtop looks killer and sounds good and has good response with a blower, period.
however a souped up civic would look pretty stupid with a jimmy blower stickin out the hood.
hands down, a turbo is more efficient. just has that tuner geek image attached.
when I was in highschool I almost bought a twin turbo setup off of a rolled elcamino, it was cool. I didnt realy understand it and nobody was really into them then so I stayed away, it seemed only the high dollar mustangs 5.0s had them then. now it just doesnt interest ME.
you all can have whatever you want, I just think "HONDA CIVIC" anytime people start talking turbos.
maybe all you guys should pimp out some SAABs too!
I'll call your hotrod comment.. The absolute coolest hotrod engine compartments I have seen to date are because of the turbos slapped inside the engine bay. The piping and polished up turbos are a work of art

oh and the only reason car companies use super chargers is because they are more user friendly to the common consumer.
you speak of STREETRODS, not HOTRODS. these are the new generation of rods. you can call me on it all you want, its your opinion, not that of the vast rodding majority. you speak of the new FOOSE, BOYD, ETC.
how many turbos were at GOODGUYS? and how many BLOWERS? nuff said.:cheer:
nobody ever said a geek cant build a streetrod.:flipoff:
Superchargers are simple and huge, that's why people like them.
And if you want to talk old hot rodders, this is where it started, none of that supercharged stuff. This is what we carpooled to work in yesterday :cheer: . He built it 30 years ago.
ask him what he thinks about putting a turbo on it?
nice ride, whos is it? and yes that is a hotrod, no hood and no radio and no fuel injection. yes a hot rod.
a street rod is a new car that looks old. astreet rod has fuel injection a 9inch ford rear, AC, a stereo system, radial tires and a dood that usually payed to have it built for him or bought it. and alot of the times its a fiberglass car.
the guy in your pic wouldnt be caught dead in a streetrod, he looks like a tried and true HOTRODDER. he probally knows my dad.

too bad the common consumer doesn't work on it themselves the majority of the time. But you are starting to agree with me that a supercharger is easier to work on, does that then make you an idiot too?
Sounds to me like the difference between a street rod and hot rod is the owner probably doesn't understand fuel injection.:looser:
Oh and chop shop quit referring to a roots type blower as a jimmy in a futile attemt to sound cool. the only rigs with roots type blowers that are cool are the fuel and nitrous injected ones. Carbs on a 8-71 is for posers :looser:
new school is fine for you, not me.:kissmyass:
Since your lacking in the comprehension department I'll explain it a little further for you.
User friendly means ease of operation. a SC vehicle has a predictable boost curve because it is directly linked to engine speed. but when you hand the average consumer (a Idiot like me) a Turbocharged vehicle the boost can come on suddenly and put you in the ditch or wrapped around a telephone pole. Manufacturers dont like lawsuits.
Did I not say they were easier to work on? AKA. "USER FRIENDLY" I laugh at your reply "...the boost can come on suddenly..." Really? Really? I guess if you tuned it right in the first place you would know WHEN it's going to come on, so it didn't come on "suddenly":haha:
The next part is maintenance. (not repair or tuning idiot we will get into that later) superchargers don't rely on the engine oil to cool and lubricate them and that is the only advantage a supercharger has over a turbo. Hand the average consumer (Idiot like me) a turbocharged vehicle and they will burn it down by not following oil change intervals and proper type and grade of oil to be used, not to mention letting the turbo cool down before you shut of the engine after beating on it. again manufacturers dont like warranty issues.
As far as "user friendly" goes, like you said, again, the supercharger is better, as in repair, maintaining and tuning. It takes a lot more to tune, repair, maintain a turbo than it does a SC.
Wait.... you have to let the engine cool down after running the turbo? Hmmmm, this makes no sense. You should be able to rev a turbo'd motor at 7k for at least an hour and shut it right off:awesomework::redneck: :haha:
Why do I choose turbo?
1. Free Horsepower. Exhaust is a waste byproduct of combustion why not use it?
It's not free. Nothing's free.:eeek:
2. Power potential. Turbos will always make more power because of what I explained above and the fact they are not crutched by engine speed.
Agreed:awesomework: As I have acknowledge before this thead was even started.
3.Infinite Adjustibility. With wastegate and engine management changes at just the touch of a dial you have infinite adjustability of the HP level of the engine and driveability.
Agreed:awesomework:
Superchargers cost horsepower are limited in thier power potential and not easily adjusted for boost levels.
By limited power you mean 700hp+ right?
They are a little harder to just "tune" in as far as boost goes, but there is some give and take with each I guess. More parts, more tunability, Less parts, less tunability. They have a "simple" adjustment, but i think it's kinda dumb to have to change pulleys to adjust boost:looser:
:kissmybutt:
you have to be the stupidest motherfucker I have ever seen post on here.
