2009 team trophy challenge washington

Mark brought over the signup sheet at the swap meet-left it with Snowyota, didn't get a chance to fill it out and get it back--Sounds like myself and snow are gonna do it (if I can get the time off...)
I mentioned I was wandering over to your booth to BS and was asked to remind you guys to turn in your form. You were gone to get the truck when I showed up, So I talked to Jim who had the form out, pen on top just waiting for you to sign.

GET R DONE:fawkdancesmiley:

Never saw the paper after I left to get the truck!!! I have to work out a few details as to work and all---But I will sign up:awesomework:, and if I can't make it, I'm sure there would be someone in our club willing to go!:;

hey Kev, dont let the fact that your teaming with Jim scare you away, i'm sure you can overcome that handicap!! LOL

:silly15::haha::haha::haha: I think I'd be just fine---just need a faster winch to yank a Yota and myself in the tow test!!!:redneck: (I've got that department handled now:D)

If this comp is for street rigs, they might laugh subota right out of the place. I can't believe he drives it on the road. Do they check all your flashers, horn, headlights? Half of these rigs are not street legal but they probably get to play. Have fun maybe Crawl magazine will be there to cover

Whats up with the 78" rule? Don't you want this comp to about the best rig?
Just wondering as we here in Washington don't get many chances for comps, Goverment rules and all :looser:

NO, that is exactly what we do not want.

We want this to be about the best TEAM. That means all 4 people and two rigs working together to complete this event. Anyone can buy a great rig with enough money. We have no interest in that. We want everyday wheelers with heart and determination and willingness to do what it takes to survive.

That is what we strive for. Better than 40% will drop out because they don't care enough, or don't work as a team.

And just who the he.. are you??? :eeek: Subota is probably safer AND more legal than MOST DD wheelin rigs wheeled on this board....

If subota is so legal why is his rig registered as a subaru? Bumper hieght in this state is determined by by GVW! He was also required to have state patrol inspect this conversion, did they like what they saw? This is the problem, you get a group that does not believe in towing trailers and they go break a draglink or tie rod and use bubble gum and bailing wire to get home on our state highways. So you might say we have an onboard welder but steering components welded in the dirt on the trail are still for getting you back to your trailer! And just who the..... am I? Why does it matter? Really ? Just another voice that needs to be heard ? :stirpot::fawkdancesmiley::puke::redneck:

M.G. yes we do inspect for:
headlights
taillights
blinkers
working horn
seatbelts
slop in steering & brake peddle
battery properly tied down
roll bar
mirrors
first aid kits, and other equipment
and a few other safety issues

no where did we say this was for "Daily Drivers" just standard trail rigs that are licenened & insured for street travel as part of the course maybe on roads where that is a need. also i would say 90% of the rigs come in on trailers.

Where is this comp gonna be held at? I wanna do it but need to go measure my width. I think im right at 78 or 79". All I need is a winch and thats plenty of time to get one.

Edit: Ok so I just ent and measured, Im at 79 1/4" at the bulge at the bottom of the tire. That is with 1/2ton axles and 9" wide wheels. So with the rules im 1 1/4" to wide. So this is almost limited to just rigs without full widths?:booo: Im gonna put a set of stock 17" dodge wheels on and see ho narrow it will be. Maby I can squeek by.:stirpot:

Subaru Brat is technically a pickup, which it falls under the same bumper laws as most yota pickups....he's got the bumper thing taken care of for the road:awesomework:...And yes WSP has inspected it, and actually liked what they saw...He DOES trailer the rig to trails... And yes he's got an onboard welder and has used it to get back to his TRAILER...

DANGERRANGER01, your right, this is not for full size rigs and the 78" is the total max either the outside tire bulge to outside tire bulge or total body width, which ever is wider. the Comp is in Washington State ans the location will be sent out to the registered compeditors 1 month before the event.

Ok, im gonna try a different set of wheels to get it in an inch. If I can do that i have another person for my team. I will let you know if I can narrow it down. Whats it cost to enter?

I am interested in entering but how strict on the "Vehicle must be street legal (there will be some on road driving)" must you be? Does the vehicle have to meet WSP equipment reqiurements?

Maximum Heights - *Bumper (4.5" min. width) measured from the ground:
GVWR 4501 - 7,500 = Front 27" & Rear 29"
GVWR 4500 and under = Front 24" & Rear 26"

My vehicle has a 5" lift, and the bumpers are taller than that. What about mudflaps?

ok, i guess the best i can do on this is tell you that there is some road driving so if you would feel confident in driving past a Sherrif, Forest Service or D.N.R. officer, you would would be ok. the vehical must meet all the criteria listed on the www.TTCW.org web site as far as safety, driver & vehical licensing and proof of insurance.

i noted this on a previous question on this thread:
