Project Joining the Dark side!

Yeah Sam what are you running for seats? I haven't wheeled in with my Corbeau's but I've spent a few hours in front of the tv in them and they rock so far.

:haha::haha::haha: my nightly ritual, sit in my new baja ss watch tv/eat dinner, fawkers are somethin else:cool:

I got one seat bracket done last night--ended but being allot more tricky but I got it. Hoping to have the other done tonight, with seats mounted to them. Only down side I won't have a chance to paint them.

Ok the first part of the seat mount was easy, it was the inboard portion that was a little tougher. The outboard rear hole was in line with the front but the inboard rear hole in in boarded from the front hole. Since the rails on the seat are straight I had to figure something out. For strength reasons I wanted the hole in line with the rail. Well the body structure below that area is curved/slanted. So here is how I got around that, made this.

This lets it reattain the inboard stock hole with the other hole slightly slanted.

And as you can see the material lands right in the middle

That I can feel good about..

So once all tacked up and welded it was test fitted (both sides) and a perfect fit :awesomework:

Pulled both of them off, removed, well whatever kinda mounts were on the seat. Mocked the new mounts to the seats and drilled some holes and bolted them to the seats.

I also added gussets to the inboard rear mounts just to be safe..

Once done--threw both seats in along with the new belts :awesomework:

One thing about these seats, they are VERY wide at the top and will rub against the b-pillar when in the full back position.

nice seat mounts mike i was really hatin on the stock mounts the idea of the seat just being bolted to the floor, i guess because i have heard of peoples seats ripping out of the floor, maybe because they cut into the floor like i have, but you did a great job on the mounts looks burly

sam- have you used your hand throttle much? can you get WOT with it? that is one mod i have yet to install on my truck, it defanitly would come in handy:awesomework:
