Kia sportage sas w vortec

This thing is turning out really cool! I like the front tube work.... makes it look mean! (I know, A kia??? Who'da thunk!:haha:)... Oh and don't worry about unc...his wife says he gets wood from the wierdest of stuff!:stirpot:

Im gonna try and make the whole thing look as mean as the front but its esier said than done. and I just hope I dont run into that little camo zook in the woods when im alone. this 4.3 will will be wide open the other way :haha:

I like it, looks great!! I see you have the toyota limo in the background.........my buddy built that thing in the late 80's, it used to be red in color, we used to show our trucks together.

Thanks. we are doing a bunch of work to the limo. 30 yrs of rain hasnt been very nice to it. thats pretty cool tho do you have any pics of it with yours from back in the day? My brother would love that :awesomework:

bad ass hope to see that thing in the woods

Im taking lots of pictures now cause it wont look like this for long. We will see ya out there hopefully pretty soon :D:beer:

I do have some old pics when we used to show.........I'll see if I can find them........

Well I ran out and tacked up the rear bumper once everyone went to bed :D hopefully get some time tomorrow to get it fully welded up. that was plan for today but thats coo I put a nice long skid on this one cause I hate it when you drop off somethin and get hung up on the bumper so hopefully this will solve that problem :awesomework:

It's not a dream machine, it's a nightmare:puke:

On another note, The rig is looking pretty sharp. :awesomework:

we have been calling it that since he told josh he was going to have to plow trail for him and we told him to keep dreaming. It pisses him off :D Oh and thanks

****les......:booo::mad::fawkdancesmiley::haha:

:haha::haha::haha: Oh, and it's pretty funny watching a 6'5" dude peel out of the driver's seat too!!!

She fits like a glove......OJ's glove.:D

You guys are killin me :haha:

Cant really tell from the pics but is there any additional support going to the rear panhard mount? Looks like that baby could rip off fairly easy if a big side impact occured. I doubt that Frame is that thick. Not hating. Just seems like a lot potential load on one area, but I drive like a moron.

Capt. Understatement:flipoff:.....just playin HOMIE:011:

X2 on the mount @ the frame. Also....I would do whatever it took to get the Panhard FLAT or slightly inverted @ ride height. With the parallel lower links and a "not flat panhard" that thing is going to rear steer like a mofo.

unique rig for sure though:beer:

Its braced good it wraps all the way around the backside of the frame and its welded to the coil mount it will have to take about 8" of frame with it.

I know its gonna have a little rear steer. I didnt want to make the panhard mounts any longer at the frame or at the axle for the same reason that you guys are worried about it ripping off . If I was going to make it lower with smaller tires it would work good. but thats not going to happen so rear steer it is :D

Hahahaha:fawkdancesmiley:

Love the project. Out of the box and totally cool but I would still maybe run a support bar from the passenger side of the frame to the panhard mount. And what the wookie pointed out, maybe a little higher on the mount on the axle side. Probably make the road manors that much nicer as well. I agree to not come down anymore on the frame side but the axle side is pretty easy to come up on. The existing Mount on the axle side is really not that tall. Some of the top guys in the worl run panhard mounts that are like two feet tall so I don't think it is that big a deal and it looks as though you have pleanty of clearence.
I always Ask myself, "what would happen If I grabbed a full size sledge and hit that fawker as hard as I could in the direction somthing would rip it off? Would it hold?" I am not a huge guy but I have broken a man's arm during an arm wrestling match and I did smash a 340+ ft homerun over the center field fence in my softball game the other night and I bet you money I could rip that fawker off the frame and that is not even neer the force that will be put on that mount as you have a 4000lb vehicle bouncing off that mount. It may just be overkill though. Just an opinion. You are kicking ass on this project.

I went out last night after I replied to you guys and I have to say I could see that ripping off with a big hit to it so its gonna get braced up. Because Im sure this thing is going to take a beating. Im going to finish my cage and then Im going to fix that. thanks for pointing that out. And overkill is better than walking outa tho woods

X2 on running a support from the frame mount end to the opposite framerail...good idea!!!

Im gonna do it :D
