Walker Valley Jeep Cross excavation / reroute

I'll be up Sat afternoon after work to help out where I can...possibly sunday, depending on what needs done, and whether I get things done around the house between tonight and tomorrow.:redneck:

jakob would you mind putting some of the orange (or bright colored) streamer tape up at the entrance off lake cavinaugh rd it might help some people find the place it will help me too i was too tired to look at where i was on the way out and i followed kevin in so i am not 100% which turn in it was off lake cavinaugh but i remember from there but if you want to mark both roads that would be cool too

Will do! I have the orange tape in the Jeep still. I'll mark it at the Turn off to the gate from Lake Cavanaugh (since it sorta sneaks up on you), as well as the way up. (But basically you follow the mainline road until you see us)

Campin in style this weekend lucky bum!
What time you gettin up there tomorrow?

I'll be meeting Elyse at 6pm at the gate. You coming up? BBQ time!

I'm not sure what I'm doing right now. The idea was if I got a excavator I would camp and babysit it so it didn't get vandalized but it doesn't look like I'm getting an excavator.:booo: For me to get both my wheeler (trailer tow rig) and trailer to Walker, Mauler has volunteered to tow my wheeler up so that will probably not happen until Sat morning so it looks like Saturday for me. I could camp Saturday night but I still have to get all my **** home too so probably not........I'll just have to hit it hard Saturday and get things done.
On a bright note my trailer now has awesome hand operated air brakes and I can make it dump with the buggy. Has to be on fairly level ground though.:cheer:

Ive got to see the hand operated air brake setup...:redneck:It's a dump??? Hmm..

It's not a "dump"......I can lock the trailer brakes and push backwards with the buggy. The trailer has two wheels and will pivot while the rear wheels of the buggy lift off the ground...Totally redneck but it works in my back yard with no load in the trailer.:redneck:

OK scratch that. **** it I'm staying there all weekend so lets see what we can get done!....I'll be there tomorrow (Friday) afternoon and camp until Sunday. Between Friday and Sunday we can get some **** done!:cheer:

Okay, so details for tomorrow. Assuming we don't have an excavator coming, this is my idea for what/how we will 'git 'er done' :redneck:.

Friday Night: arrive at 6pm (Lk Cavanaugh Gate)
Binder (Rick) will go grab his buggy with my truck, while others will get the Excavator off the trailer and start putting rock in the dump bed trxguy (Matt) has.
When binder gets back, we'll use his trailer as well to haul rock back and forth.
This rock will be the medium size, with a few larger rocks for the end (once we get the excavator back to the landing to pluck them off that side

Saturday morning 9am!
We will start digging culverts, while the bobcat is used to get smaller rock with Matt and the dump bed. Rick will start hauling the larger rock up the trail and dumping them where they're needed.

We'll see where we get Saturday, which will dictate if we need to continue to Sunday. I'm all for it since we have the equipment all weekend. I'd like to see this done!

IF we do get another excavator (big one)
It depends on what Ron thinks. If he thinks the smaller one with the thumb can get the rock exactly where it needs to be, we'll take that one up the trail and use the big one to load trailers. Otherwise, we'll do visa-versa.

We need someone to run the bob-cat, as well as someone on the extra excavator. I might do that duty if I end up loading the rock friday night. We will need someone and/or a jeep to possibly help Rick offload the larger rock onto the trail and/or winch them into place.

Lastly.... Elyse is giving all of her days off to be here to support us. She will have been working for 7 days straight by next thursday. So I hope we can thank her by being there as well to get the job done :awesomework:

I'm in. Will be coming up in my DD. I don't wheel it at all but it does have a rear Spartan locker and 31s.

My plan is to get there Friday afternoon. Will bring the usual hand tools and stuff.

I could maybe be talked into running an excavator if you need me too?

Heya! :hi: If you're around Friday night, we only have one person who has some knowledge of equipment and isn't slated to do something else (like haul rock).

Ron will be out there Saturday and Sunday to run the DNR 10.5k excavator. If we end up getting Rick's connection, we will need another person to run that piece of equipment.

I will be up there friday to sunday get there about 5:30 to 6 friday evening have experiance with excvators and can run all weekend if you want Jakob:awesomework:

I can get up there earlier possibly if need be as well Just gotta toss the rig on the trailer load the tent and some tarps and pack a cooler and im good to go:redneck:

Wow, seems there's gonna be quite a few campers....hmmm *debates loading up for sat nite...* ....
Jakob, Have you thought of (since there seems to be a pretty good tent/camper city brewing) where you will not have to move everything for the work??? It'd be best to find a good spot well off the 'work corridor' if ya know what I mean....:awesomework:

Maybe the red rock pit? Its the first left off of the "big rock" pit road. Kinda sketchy though as its kinda back in the woods if anyone wasn't there, and a single track trail runs right by it.

Humm....not very many "good" camping spots near by...

Looks like maybe I better get some backup lights installed before tomorrow...:stirpot:
