What should the stickers look like???

Words only is a good start, but alot of people would want them to have the mock-vehicle or tread print in them. I kinda like the ones with the tread print. I think more would sell if they had some type of image in them.

OK, I've got the approval to set up a booth at our local Walmart to sell stickers and hand out info... Hoping to get approved by the WOW membership at the next meeting...

Good luck but how much support do you think you'll get from the general poulation? May be better off selling them on local forums or at 4wheel part N such.....

Everything needs to start someplace. I think a large percentage of the population is uneducated on ORV use.

And heck----we all know walmart is full of rednecks--you shop there right :D

Walmart is just one way to get the stickers out there...

I did mention selling them on sites, at work parties, events, 4x4 swapmeet, ebay, CL and so on...

There can always be other types of stickers... I'd like to think that we could get other groups, clubs, orgs involved and maybe they could include their info and stickers with the purchase of the fund raising sticker...

This is what inspired me...not sure if it has to be that big, but you get the point:

I vote for just words. This will keep it generic & applicable to a wider audience...if we include a tire track then what type of tire will it be? 4x4, side-by-side, dune buggy, atv, motorcycle?

Keep it generic & let everyone get involved.

The state already has a system where you can purchase certain licence plates cost more, but you get a custom licence plate and some of that money is dontated to a certain non-profit organization.

Charlie is right though. We don't need to waste ANY of the donated money by giving the DOL the ability to charge a processing fee. It might reach more users but will it be worth it? It's like the day use fees discussion, by the time you pay to come up with a process to collect the fees and pay someone to collect them....How much are you really left with?

That's the reason for this...

It would have been nice to have the money already available to pay for the equipment rental for Walker Valley... One less hurdle when trying to upgrade our trails...

Just like the Rainier Vista, the rocks had been there for a long time... There was no money for the equipment...

This money would be available to fund projects that we want done on the trails... If we run something by the powers that be and get approval, we usually have the man power and no funding... Then stuff gets put on the back burner with a chance that it may never happen for what ever reason... It would be nice to jump on these projects in a timely manner when the opportunity comes up...

When we rebuilt the posts on the shelter at Elbe, I had to run around and get materials donated... WOW voted on spending the money on the tools I didn't have, Nancy got approval for the money to buy the culvert and Nybo donated the concrete and truck... This project should have been done long before it actually happened, but it's difficult to get everything in place to make it happen...

If the funds were there, it would have went smoother and quicker as soon as I presented the plans to the DNR...

So, I've been looking at sticker prices to get a real idea of the cost... Still looking a t a few more options...

How much do you guys think is reasonable to charge for them when they start selling??? $5??? $10???

I don't have an issue paying $10 for a sticker that I know will help our trails, but making it appeal to non-users and a larger number of users that may not be focused on trail issues, $5 may feel more comfortable...

I plan on having one on all my vehicles... Funding is just half of it, public awareness is the other half...

FWIW (and I've stated this before)......I would not donate to a "general fund". Meaning, I would never blindly donate. I would only donate to planned maintenance, upgrades and building.

Also, if I was to donate, I would need to know exactly where that money goes. If, for my donation, I received something tangible (a sticker, etc.) that's fine......but dealing with one entity, so that another entity receives that donation.......well, I don't consider that an effective means of collection of said donation.

Person A gives person B a donation. Person B uses donation to complete the advertised function / need for donation. KISS (keep it simple stupid:redneck:). If it's not as simple as that, then.....

I understand where you're coming form Mark...

WOW being a non-profit already and having everything in place makes since to me... The over head will be minimal, all the work done by volunteers... We talked about it last night and there would be a separate savings account for the funds...

Anyone that wanted info regarding where the money has been spent is more than welcome to that info...

And I agree that monies are needed for future activities.......I would have no problem donating money for a project months (even a year) away.
