Dad's stang...

I got the new brake lines installed.

Got the new fuel and vacuum line installed

I also got the carb put on. My dad ordered a new chrome valve cover and Don has sand blasted the old one for me so I decided I to paint it just so I could remove the rags I had covering the the valve train and it just also looked better,lol.

So since I got the wiring taken care of under the dash I was able to get the wiring passthru's installed into the firewall.

So now that is done I can finally start to getting the engine bay wired back up again--my way...

Started with the passenger side harness since it was the easier of the 2.

And here is where I got after 10 tonight and finally ran outa steam.

My dad also finally picked the color he wanted. He sat there thumbing thru colors and this one just caught his eye--he LOVED it--going to be an eye catcher. So he went with Don and bought the needed amount along with primers/ect.

Hope dad gets a full recovery to really take this car out and enjoy it.
Make sure to video tape the 'unveil'. I'll bet dad cries.

Thanks tony--allot has been done in really little time but there is still allot to do and I have a bunch of late nights for a lil over a week but well worth it..

And yes on the video :awesomework:
 
Awsome work! Your dad will love it. I finally got my dad to bring his car to my shop for work and we had a blast (for only installing a line lock).

On a side note, when you are connecting rubber fuel line to your new hard line do you put a bump or flare on the hard tube to aid in the soft line staying on?

Just a very "light" single flare--just enough to bite the hose. You can also use carbclean on the hose to slide it one and once hose clamped the carbcleen with adhere the hose to the metal line.

Actually know whats better tom. A small bubble flare. That way you get an area that can hold the hose on but no sharp edge to wear thru the hose.

So what you do is do like you are doing a double flare and only start the flare to where it starts to mushroom the material out.. Thats a MUCH better option IMO...

I guess I should of stated that better as I only have a double flare tool (you know the torture devise kind). I useally do the whole double flare to keep from cutting the inside of the hose. This has worked well for me so far. I did not know if that fancy hydraulic tool I have seen you have has a better option.

I have lots of options :redneck:

But you can achieve the same thing tom. Just do like you are going to do a double flare. When you ude the insert tool to mushroom the tubing down just go a few turns on the tool to where to get just a little mushroom out of the tubing. This will give you a nice dimple for the rubber to hold onto and not that big to fight getting hose over. if I get a chance tonight I will show ya a good picture.
 
I have a '67 merc.. (same guts as the mustang)

I will look to make sure it still has its master cyl and stuff on it...

If it is still there and you want it (more than likely for a core) and the proportioning valve....

feel free to come get em...

Ok I put in another late night and chomped thru more wiring and moving faster than I thought for doing more than I origionaly planned on. I was going to rework the stock stuff but tossed it and doing all new..

Here is the stock drivers side harness ready to be hacked up for needed ends.

Here is the passenger harness where it goes down for the temp/oil pressure and coil.

New drivers side harness. I chose to integrate the washer pump into the harness and will tie it in with a bullet connector to the pass thru above the main one.

So the mian harness is almost ran and then to the ends--making progress.

My dad also dropped off another load of parts--man he's getting excited and even more when I told him we are a lil over a week for it to go to the body guy.
