I'm thinking about buying this f250 it has a 5.3 with a manual. Does anybody have any experience with that type of truck. I will use it as a dd/ tow rig.
5.4 ...
what's the cost? Pretty sure we could come up with a better dd/tow rig for the $$
Unless it was regeared to turn those tires, you will probably not be happy trying to tow with it.
If it has 4.88s, it will be better for sure, but I honestly wouldn't buy a SuperDuty with that engine just because I think it will be a disappointment. Just my .02
Isn't that the engine that spits out spark plugs?

Not sure what crack pipe Frankie picked up this time, but the #4 coil does NOT fail due to heat--#4 fails typically due to coolant dripping from the heater hose connection right above it, shorting the secondary windings when the plug tube fills with coolant, much like #5 and/or 6 does when the T-stat/intake starts leaking...#7 and 8 are the two that are hardest to change on the driver's side, but not difficult by any stretch...#4 is the biggest PITA due to, once again, the proximity of it in general, and of the heater hose tube passing right over the top of the coil...Not sure about that but they do eat up the #4 coil, doesn't get enough cooling backed up against the fire wall and the # 6 or 7 plug is a pia to change

The 5.4L are a good engine, just underpowered in any SD truck larger than a standard cab...:awesomework:

Wasn't there also a problem with condensation coming off the low side a/c line?
