TG no longer offers Dirty 30's

Correct, they've discontinued the "Dirty 30" name and continuing with the "authentic Longfield" name. They are now making their own birfields in house and are following the specs of the Longfield superaxles from before I'm told.

RCV is also making birfields now with their name on them and the other flat side says "see ya mister" as a tribute to bobby. They also have 300M material for the star which the TG models do not.

300M and vacuum arc remelted 4340 chromoly steel is the same material. 300M is a trademark name, and vacuum arc remelted 4340 chromoly steel is the description of 300M material.

TG version of the Long is NOT mfg in the USA.

If you have an OLD pre2014 long/rcv and it fails, send it to Davez and get a GENUINE RCV shaft, not an authentic IMPOSTER.

They do say ASSEMBLED in the USA....probably makes some feel better but this makes me think the materials are coming from outside the country, probably china.

They also now offer the axles with the inner and outer hub gears along with drive flanges...Why not just one or the other. Guess if you run hubs you now have a quick trail fix.

With all the stuff I have read, I think I will go RCV when my stock shafts let go, or maybe before that. Its not even a conversation anymore, its an easy vote. The guys that buy Trailqueer and other china shafts buy them for the warranty and maybe the few bucks saved, not the quality.

Where did you hear that? Do you know what it takes to make birfield style axles in house? Im pretty sure Rockford is the only company in the US that can make them from scratch. TG is probably installing the balls and stars in the bells from crates of EMPI parts and saying they are made by TG.

Nope, TG didn't even notify RCV that they were buying Tina out. They took delivery of what Tina had ordered and RCV hasn't made anything else for them since, that's why they are marketing their own now. I heard TG was making them in CA but wouldn't be surprised if they were back with EMPI and assembling them in CA. Cheap ****ing lying bastards.

Video shows a guy assembling the guts of a birf then greasing it. It takes more then a VF-3 to make the balls, cage, star and grind the bells. TG might be there one day but right now it looks like they are just reboxing mid quality parts.

Not 2nd thoughts, the info I got from RCV when I talked to them confirmed things a little better for me, I was told by TG at the time they were being made by RCV and now I know for sure they aren't.

In the first ten seconds of the video, he says designed, built, and tested.. I would assume he didn't mean assembled but who knows. I was given different info before and I stand corrected. The add on the web page says designs, tested, and assembled in the USA which to me would mean built elsewhere and not in the USA.

Since they never made an attempt to get RCV to continue manufacturing Longfields, we can assume they planned to outsource them from the get go. They probably had it all set up before the sale was even final. :eeek:

Yeah, it is unfortunate if that was the case. If they are back to importing them, they are kind of shooting themselves in the foot, especially since RCV has come into play for the toy axles.
