Trailer to Trade

I widened my old trailer like the buggy hauler. It was 100" wide. I did that so I could load a rzr sideways on the front, then my rig behind it. Never ever up getting a rzr. New trailer is 84" wide overall and super nice to tow.

I don't really get the buggy hauler. Unless you have a Rockwell, hub out, crazy wide rig, 102" wide is pointless.
 
A lot of the trophy truck trailers that you see are actually narrower for this reason.
It's also easier to tow in the smaller roads of baja.

I like how a trophy truck trailers basically look like a landscaping trailer with the little dinky siderails and whatnot.

A long time ago, I saw a Robby Gordon/Fuel Energy truck on a very similar trailer on the interstate, being pulled by a chase truck (like pictured above). My initial thought was "Wow I can't believe they don't have that thing in an enclosed race trailer"... Then I realized it was destined to go get the **** whooped out of it in the desert or some racetrack and kind of chuckled to myself.
 
True. Smaller trailer means your friends can't borrow it to haul their broke down car. Lol

Old trailer (never made use of the extra width), and the new trailer since all I ever haul is my crawler. Everything I need, nothing I don't.

Important point is to show the truck and attract attention too.

They love the siderails cause they haul a lot of **** that isn't tied down on these trailers. Spare tires etc

There's 2 maybe 3 people i'd trust enough to let them borrow my enclosed. End up like my dad. Loaned his gooseneck out to a buddy (he actually bought it off the dude) and it came back with the whole side jacked up, rub rails all ****ed, boards on the deck broke, and the brakes so ****ed up we had to rewire them and put new brakes all that **** on it. idk what dude did or hauled but he ****ed that trail up. ever since that day i aint letting no body borrow my trailers. Unless you're one of the 3
 
when I had that 34' bumper pull, people wanted to borrow it all the time. I used to tell 'em they can lease it (for the price I'd sell it for) and keep it as long as they want.

So your lease option was a 110% non refundable security deposit?

Nah it was refundable, minus wear and tear, upon return. No one ever took me up on it though... well, until the last guy. and that was a few years ago. Haven't see it since :dunno:
 
Man if I had a nickel for sidewall jokes I could almost afford one of them SX's. :rolf:

Truth be told, I've had good luck out of the Reds and only cut one sidewall. Guy 45 minutes away did a good job of vulcanizing it for $100. Now spinning them in the mud after the annual rain during RBD is a different story. :driving:
I ran reds for years. Never had an issue with my 39s (except the size). Cut a sidewall just puttering around my first trip out with the 42s. They were gone shortly after

Funny, but I've seen a lot of cut 39s and no 42s.

I think it's more of a luck situation.

In two years of consistent wheeling (15+ trips in that timeframe), I always kept the tires at 10 psi (which I know is too much per other peoples opinion) but never had a single issue with the sidewalls. The one trip I didn't air up from 8 psi, I sliced the sidewall on a green trail at AOP…
