Matt's Cheerleader Jeep buildup thread...

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

It's alive. It moved under it's own power tonight. I drove it to town and went through the drive-thru at McDonalds and got a cheeseburger with it...

Goes pretty good for a rig with 4 almost flat Iroks, a spool in the back, the equivalent of 2.25" backspaced wheels, no rear shocks, and some wonky steering that makes it hard to take tight right hand corners. :redneck:

I'm too cool for pics these days. Just look at the old pics and imagine it actually moving down the road. :D :flipoff:

got any flares in the makin? thats not exactly legal :flipoff: looks good tho man. got a better wheeler than i ! nice frame :flipoff:

Haven't figured that part out yet... I'm going to put the stock ones back on and see how things go. I only got **** about flares if I got pulled over for something else in my XJ (half doors, mudflaps, etc), this isn't much worse with the stock flares than my XJ was with no flares, so I think as long as I have some big-ass mudflaps and I don't drive like an ass... I should be ok.

good plan, so, is it stayin white? and when are ya planning on it being wheelable and beatable?

Yeah, it's staying white... I pasted all my cool stickers on it, so I can't repaint it now... :redneck:

Another couple weeks and I should be out to Reiter for the first run... Gotta get the rear shocks on, mount and wire up my winch, replace the alternator (or figure out what the electrical issue is), build the anti-wrap bar... and, uh... fix the steering. Then I think it'll be ready :)

 This things gonna be awesome

I don't know about it being so awesome right off the bat, but it'll get the job done... just have to work out some bugs first. :)

BTW, the outside width, bulge to bulge on the front is a hair over 79.5", for those that asked..

I drove it 30 miles today and nothing broke. :D

Third pic is parts for my anti-wrap bar. I screwed up and ordered 2 bushing setups instead of 3. Doh.

were da updates mang :flipoff:

No updates to speak of. I've been busy with work and Goldendale. This week I'm going to try to get my winch wired up and get some tow points on it and go for a sort of shake-down run on Saturday morning (See karl vs. sickboy thread in NW trail chatter). Still no anti-wrap bar though, so I'll have to take it easy.

I haven't updated this in a while, mainly because I haven't done much. My last trip out to Reiter the gears in the front-end started making some odd noises, but so far they still work. I should probably take it apart and find out what's wrong, but I haven't had the motivation yet.

The anti-wrap bar is done, except that I need to pull the belly pan off again and re-do my mount since it bent a bit when I was "abusing it" by trying to climb some stuff in 2wd. :D

I'm using 1.5" .25" wall tubing, 3/4" heim and bushings from M.O.R.E.
