4 link front w/steering box?

You say this because of the 4 link?

Or because you feel I wont be happy with the steering power of the assist/box set up?

Mainly due to the 4 link. Sure it can be done--but your going to the effort of a 4 link---you will be MUCH happier going with hydro. Heck you are welciome to come drive my rig and see how you like it...

This reminds me of the Kohler commercial where the lady brings a faucet to an architect and says "design me a house around this."

Don't design your suspension around a steering box. Sell it and put the $ toward full hydro.

4 link and a steering box is NOT rocket science.....can and has been done.

think push-pull steering. the drag link doesn't have to go side-->side.

Seen it on tons of lifted trucks in the midwest. As long as the draglink is as long as the links your all good.:awesomework:

It cant be done eh...Whats with the steering shaft angle??? This rig has more harcore miles on it than Brads YJ.

full hydro isnt as expensive as most think, just run a $60 ram from northerntool and a cheap pump, hell, with a couple mods my stock YJ pump works

Its either do what youre saying or go with 3 link with panhard for the front link design.

At this point im leaning toward the 3 link set up.I just dont want to soak a grand into a full hydro setup.

you won't spend a grand if you don't buy PSC or any other brand name parts, like others have said before you can get a ram from surplus for dirt cheap, modify a stock pump build your own lines ect ect.

Cylinders (ram), pumps, and lines are the cheap part anyways. Nobody has mentioned where to get the control valve (orbital). $400 dollars at Northern Tool or mabey a used one? But thats the expensive part.

Either way a grand for steering will seem like a drop in the bucket once your done with the links and coilovers.

Unerstude and great info guys, really appreciate you helping me with this ?

The plan never really was to use full hydro steering.I will build the inverted 4 link in the back.I just thought I would build the same style 4 link in front also if I could use the box set up.But as I studied up on it I found its not a real good way to go about.Thats why I asked to make sure what I learned about it was correct. You guys confermed what I thought I knew.

Its not a big deal im sure I can build a 3 link pan hard system that will work fine.

when you build the 4-link in the rear make sure you build a sway bar into it as well... try to go with the longest sway bar you can fit:;
