First off, my 4runner is bobbed 13"

So I'm thinking of getting another 4runner top, but this time instead of having the front end cut off (which allows for gaps, no rear windows, etc), I'm thinking of cutting the top in 2 pieces at the rear window.

I'd then make the rear window Plexiglas, and reattach the back-end with the rest of the top.

Any suggestions on howto 'glue' the two fiberglass pieces back together? I haven't seen a whole lot of writeups about this, thus far.

:awesomework: grind in the join areas to sound glass and lay in some fiberglass in side and out, then smooth it out and paint it!!!! sounds easy doesn't it it takes a while to get it done!!!!!:awesomework: i just did this....and put plexy in the back to close it in worked great.... this rig is now the F-Toy...

awesome! I'm going to have to take a closer look at your rig! =D

I'd like to keep rear window, so thats why I wanna combine them together.

I guess I need to go learn up on Fiberglass fab now!

hm, interesting..i'll have to keep tabs on this. i might be chopping my 4runner top...eventually

working with fiber glass is pretty simple, you can learn anything on the internet.... it will defanitly take some time to fiberglass it in,

is the rear window going to roll up and down

say how does it feel to have your heat back:D

HAha the Heat is GREAT. yah I just feel bad for those who ride in the back of my rig. You can see the rear window doesn't move:

So I'm thinking of cutting the top right where the back glass starts at the bottom, and putting in Plexiglas for filler. Then attaching the rear side so the rear window will roll up.

Yah some research on the internet today, and it doesn't look too difficult. I'll play first with my old top :redneck: I havne't found anyone else who has done this specifically with a 4runner, so if anyone has addit'l suggestions, or know of write-ups that'd be awesome!

this was the most I found on the topic:
