People have been breaking the center pins and not knowing it. I have seen the center pins come loose too. This guy broke both sides and is switching to Marlin parts. Trail Gear is using weak steel.

Not exactly... Marlin is pressing their new 25mm pin trunion bearings into the trailgarbage arms for Mustard dog. It's too bad I already got rid of my billet Marlin 6 stud arms, I'd have traded him for 4 stud... :booo:

This guy stated he hit the transition to a dune at speed with full hydro, a v8 and 40 inch tires. All this with an axle designed to run 30 inch tires. Yeah cheap steal from china whatever. Running this guys combo with yota axles, I would say breakage is a given regardless the steal/knuckle/brand blah blah blah. :awesomework:

Tin Top Hick broke his too or a part that was very similar., but he has also broken alot of parts that are not normal breakage. And thats with a 22r.

Since when does Mustard dog have a V8? Might wanna check that..

"So I have the typical stock SBC 350 in my rig using an Impco 425 mixer."

"X2 Considering Mustard Dog (couple of KOH races) 40's, full hydro, V8, this kind of breakage is fairly common on Toy axles. This is one of the reasons people go 60's"

First post is from Mustard dog, second is from the post referencing trail gear's stearing arms on pirate. Okay even without v8. If your running 40's with toy axles somethings gonna give. And from the sounds of it it's not just trail gear's arms breaking.

Fair enough, that's one issue I never had, although I've only ran Allpro and Marlin parts... No chinaman forgery on my junk. :redneck:

Yes I did and I'm running a 20r not a 22r. But I also ran into a stump. I run alot of Trail Gear stuff and some stuff brakes and some don't. You'll get that with any company. It's just a matter of how long it will last. And how hard you run it. The thing about Trail Gear is most of their stuff is life time warrenty. And they don't ask questions they just replace it. :redneck:

Not the US made vs China junk debate again....

There's not a whole lot of products left that is made 100% in the US. I try to run all US made products when I can....for example, my TR Beadlocks which Im on my 2nd set, but even Marlin's stuff along with Allpro are not all 100% US made anymore. Care to guess where the US made Marlins springs are really made? BTW, Allpro and Marlin springs are the same.

For one thing, my rig was made in Japan....80% of it still is. The rest is made up of parts from US vendors of products made all over the world including the US.

As for the broken pins on the Trail Gear 6 shooters, thats pretty wild. Makes you wonder if thats why Marlin came up with the bigger pin setup. Looks like even the US made Marlin arms/pins were breaking also.

Personally I'm all about buying stuff from anyone that has quality parts that aren't a blatant copy of someone that I know who did all the hard work into researching and testing the product. Trailgarbage not only falls into that catagory but they also have no fawking scruples about ripping people off that did all the leg work.

I shop at Wal-mart and Harbor Freight but I won't buy the stuff that is junk (believe it or don't but there is good stuff at HF :haha: ) if someone makes a good product I'll buy it simple as that. :D
