Alright, im touching on some final things on my buggy. For a PS cooler, should it be mounted inline on the the return line or the pressure line? Does it matter? What line yelds max cooling? What compact cooler do you guys suggest? I was thinking this one from Poly.

I think you want it on the return/low pressure side of the system. The Pressure side might cause it to rupture.

I'm not sure if there is a cooller out there that can/should be mounted in the Hi pressure line.

Have mine mounted in the low pressure line/return line. Works wonders and helped cool the fluid IMMENSLY!

I used a Hayden tranny/ps cooler from schucks.. Was around $30

Here it is mounted.

Ok so for sure on the return line, I kinda figured that anyway. Thanks for the info and pic. :awesomework:

Hi All:

X2!

I have the same exact "cooler" in the Saginaw PS conversation on my FJ40. Bought it from Schmucks as well! Seems to do the trick.

Regards,

Alan

The poly one is sweet.
I hear to mount it lower than the pump or reservoir so it doesnt drain back when its not running.

I got the same style cooler from PSC and yes you want it on the return side for sure.

I've got something similar to that picture although it's from PSC. There's only one opening in each end. Does that one have 2 small openings on that end?

I think it works fine but what do I know

Don't waste your time or money on this cooler, I speak from experience.

Get a normal trany cooler or better yet, get an auxillary cooler with a dedicated fan.

Plate style cools better than the tube style as dsiplayed in earlier posts.

I went with the tube style because I had no room on my sammy.Running it for over a year and the pump works great but you are right about the other style cooling better.

What are your guys thoughts on mounting a plate style cooler to the front of a rad? Using the airflow from the fan and movement of the rig. I got a 7.5x12 flat aluminum cooler from napa and was thinking of mounting it on the rad.
