Baby blu beater

your not using chevy springs on it are ya? what springs at what end?

I'll be doing that on the yota rears I'm putting in the back of it. Probably going waggy's or another pair of Yota rears in the front. Little thing will damn near pick a tire on flat ground if you stomp on it, I need more wheelbase.

Trying to avoid long ass pickup springs on this one, 63" inch springs on something that's currently all of 81" wheelbase doesn't seem quite right.

the toy leafes work well as do the wranglers an a light sami. If you run the toyotas, get rid of the overload and add some more leaves to keep them from doing the pretzel. when we goin wheelin?

Soon as I have my shitbox in such form as to actually be able to drive it to Elbe, ordering parts this week hopefully and getting those springs in (probably just pull leaves out of the YJ's I'm taking off)
 
Got the hangers tacked on, then welded, then painted.:cool:

Cut, ground, and drilled some 1/2 wall X 2 inch flatbar for rear shackles.

The last two are pictures of the rear and front shackle angles with all of the trucks weight on the axles at ride height.:awesomework:

Got some rubber from the House of Steel in the form of 36x12.5 swampers on pretty wheels.

Put a Ubolt flip in the rear to match the front. Used a 2 inch block to make it level with the front.

Started making a bumper for the hydro ram.:D Got it all fit up and tacked and then ran out of wire!:mad: Looks like Ill have to get shocks and wire tomorow.:beer:

coming a long nicely for sure how many leafs do you typically remove on 63chevys?

NONE. If you have a stiff pack and need to remove leafs than you have the wrong pack to begin with.

These springs came in everything from 1/2 ton std cabs to 1 ton extended cabs in 3 to 6 leaf versions with the leaves staggering down at different lengths too.

If you have a stiff heavy duty 4 or 5 leaf version that doesnt flex and you just remove leafs to "loosen" them up a little you will get more wheel hop than anything.:booo:

In a light truck like this std cab I like the three leaf, short leaf pack best.:beer:
 
Then I went playing and got a little "pickled".:haha: Had to push the truck sideways with the hilift till the tree let go! There was another tree against my passenger rocker bar too. Made for a good cut.:cool:

Did you use a weldable 90 on the tight short bend on the diff side of the ram gaurd?
