So I need to get my toy out of my new shop--it can't sit there taking up valuable space and I refuse to have it sit out under a tarp anymore--just too destructive on the old lady.

So I have a rather large stash of material and an idea. This will be a full awn cheap budget project...

So it started with having a **** load of hoops for green houses and a bunch of poop pipe :redneck:

First I wanted to get a rough idea exactly how I wanted to do it. Kinda setting it up gave me a great idea..

So with that I came up with a good idea. It will have a full steel base for the hoops to sit in..

I decided to go 18ft long so I have room for the kids quads in front of it so I can get them out of the barn and free up tractor space there. Most of the poop pipe is in 10ft lengths so I had to spice a couple pieces together.

Once that was done time to start cutting uprights...

Was able to get both bases done a little faster than I thought. Once I got a rhythm down it was wham bam thank you mam :redneck:

Drug it outside to do a quick setup to see how well it will work. I think it just might. There is a perfect spot between both shops thats leveled and graveled. So once I get some time in the light I will drag the bases over to there new home and continue on...

:awesomework:coming together very nicely. If you had extra material I would consider taking them off your hands and doing the same thing

Looks like a great start. Not sure if you plan on completely closing it in, but don't, leave at least one end opened. The metal on your rig will sweat in there in the summer months. I had some weird electrical issues on my old rig because of that. Had some condensation under the distributer cap.

Ya I only plan of enclosing one end. I know it will be like a green house and it will also cut down on wind damage. I probably will keep it open on both sides--will have to see when I get to that point.

What are you planning to use as a cover? Would be cool to get a huge colvert and cut it in half.... not sure if they make them that big but I have seen some big ones.

Idea is cheap as possible and right now I am right about $10..

So I am planning on no more than $100 and with that I should have about the strongest parking spot around :redneck:

what are you doing between the hoops at the top?

Thats what I am still trying to figure out. But I was thinking a pressure treated 2x4 held to the hoop via carriage bolt. I have a **** ton of those too. And it would give me a spot to put a light out there since I need a plug in out there anyways for the battery tender.

You've probably got all sorts of scrap steel you could weld on in between. Probably want to do some sort of X-bracing at least in a couple spots to create some rigidity...

I did think of that too Kev. Only issue is if I want to move it that takes away that option. I still might though and I have just enough to build another 18ft piece..

It should be pretty rigid though with the hoops down in the uprights. Many have simply pounded the material in the ground and then pop the hoop into it and they seemed to hold up.
