i only built it 10 in tall so it would reach the bottom an 12 wide at the bottom 10 at the top

That is an awesome fix. Sounds like your using the stock pump and pick up. It has always irritated me having the extra fuel that cant be used. I know there's way's to fix the pick-up, but it doesn't solve the other issues. i really like the way your cell is built to contour the back seat angle. Looks like your adding internal baffles? I don't think the RCI 2161 has any. Hell of an idea all the way around. Keep the good stuff coming! loller.gif

FREAKIN COOL man :dblthumb:...just be shure & mount that thing on some soft rubber biscuits so it dont SPLIT a seam ;D

Yes the jeep tub DOES flex,........I had an argument with a dude one time that swore his did not ::)

DO keep us posted ;D

Custom built tanks that use the stock pump is the only way to go, I had one built for my crawler 2 or 3 years ago, never one problem. I also have never saw a RCI that didnt eventually leak :puke:

If you are going to grind down all the welds like in the first picture do your self a favor and fully weld the cell on the insde too. Hate to see all that hard work get wasted by the tank splitting a seam. Looks good though. thumb.gif

i understand i got a good corner to corner weld an the root comes out the back side well tks .

ok now for the top scene i am building it i don't see no need for the inside ring just the outside so i cut my hole an some rings

Fuel Cell = $242
Hold Down Kit = $32
Adapter rings = $ 100
That's a total of $374

You have to cut and install the ring, which tends to leak a lot. You lose about 2 gallons of useable capacity. I would much rather pay that much for the one you have built. Nice work. PM sent as well

Now that is some out of the box thinking on the filler neck. :****: I bet every body has a few of those that the concider junk and would probably toss them out thinking they have no use for them. Good idea!!!

tks man i'm going to go see if i can get an oring that gas won't hurt but y it should work good
