shot her fri afternoon not much blood so backed out till morin damn coyotes beat me to her

That is a shame. I hate feeding those ****ers I dump my remains in the creek just for that reason. I nailed one pretty high lung (high enough to miss th heart (yummmy) saturday afternoon, she didn't run but about 20 yards though. I did notice that for the first ten yards there was very little blood of course that little bit did have chunks of lung in it... but after that it really started pumping out. Enjoyed some fresh loin last night ;D

i hunt outta blinds, get in when its still dark in the a.m. and leave around 9 or 10 then come back at 2 or so and sit till dark, our gun season in NY is pretty wild, sounds like a war goin on in the woods and the Buck are really ruttin hard now so any time of the day is good now, i shot this buck at 1pm

What time you guys usually stay in the stand tilnin the mornings and what time do you get in in the evenings?

I usually sit in the mornings ~30min before daylight until ~11. Go eat and back in the woods about 2.

During rut, I try to stay all day, depending on the spot.

Seems to be a bumper crop of acorns this year, you can sit in the woods all day now and are likely to kill one anytime. :dblthumb:

One of the guys who works for me had an interesting game wardon story from this weekend in Zapata, TX (down by the border)

They got to their stand about an hour before 1st shoot. Unbeknownst to them they got shadowed all the way in by a Gamewarden with night vision. The gamewarden crossed two fences and snuck up to within 100feet of them sniper style and layed listening to them for approx 30 minutes before he stood up, clicked on lights and identified himself.

Ended up writing them warnings for not having the back of their permits filled out.

Showed them his night vision, and he said he frozen cause his phone went off and its a "coyote" and they looked his way but didnt see him. Due to all of the drugs and illegals running through there they are front lines. He said he had a co-worker get shot in the leg by trafficers a few weeks ago. He was in the brush when they came by they heard something and just sprayed the brush with bullets while they fled, striking him in the leg.
