Duck Dynasty

this was just a few days ago at one of our local grocery stores. the wife and granddaughter ran into him. even though they are big celebs right now, they havent forgot were they came from and they always take time to take pictures with the fans ,especialy the kids. yes alot of it is t.v. alot of it is not real, but you would be surprised what is. they are very religious folks ,thats why at the end of every show they have a prayer at the dinner table. from what i was told that was a must from phil. millionairs that dont shave or get hair cuts, now thats down to earth.

I finally watched the ones from last weeks and I always enjoy the relationship advice that Phil gives his grand-kids.

1) Never touch a woman below the neck until you have signed on the dotted line.
2) If you fool around, you'll go from Happy, happy happy, to crabby, crabby, crabby.
3)Never marry a woman who can't cook. If you try to live on love, you'll starve to death.

If I ever get the slightest feeling a show is remotely close to being staged, I instantly hate it for some reason. Only shows I'm hooked on are Pawn Stars, American Pickers, Counting Cars, and The Walking Dead on AMC. And I LOOOOVE Top Shot, but haven't seen it on History Channel in awhile.

And you do not think Pawn Stars, American PIckers, and Counting Cars are not staged??

All of Hollywood is staged, probably even most of the **** that goes on with the Orange County Chopper crew........BUT, pawn stars, pickers, etc are not anywhere close to as fake and cheesey sounding as some of the hillbilly **** on duck dynasty and other shows like it like Bayou Billionaires......it's like they all mock the south and try to make it out like everyone from the south are redneck billy bubba's that **** their sister. Lol to each their own I guess, I just can't watch the show...... I also do not have the mental capacity to dumb down and watch adult cartoons like South Park, Family Guy, etc....****'s dumb as **** to me molaugh I just can't pay attention to it....makes my skin crawl if I'm forced to watch it.

Duck Dynasty = mindless entertainment

Family Guy = 30 mins cheap pop culture jokes

South Park = textbook social/religous/political satire wrapped in crude humor, as is most satire. Hell, it could be a modern day Canterbuy Tales.

Ive been watching duck commander videos for probably 10 years and I can say that these guys have pretty much been the same ever since they started.

Of course they used to use Browning shotguns, mix matched camo, and drove old toyota 4wd trucks and now everything they have is sponsored but the guys are the real deal - they made there money by actually knowing how to call and kill ducks thumb.gif

I think it is somewhere on this site but someone said they knew/know them and they have always acted the way they do on the show. Not saying some things arent staged.
As far as some of the other shows like OCC that has been talked about so many times on here.

I was a buyer for a large outdoor sporting goods retailer for almost 10 years and had the opportunity to hunt with the Robertsons several times. Not saying that some things on the show aren't staged - but for the most part this is exactly how these guys are every day. Great family with great values and love to hunt and kill most anything - especially ducks !

Yep, I hunted/helped guide at Reelfoot lake for 5-6 years during some of the peak seasons and met the Roberstons a time or 2. They were usually filming for a Duck Commander video, it was neat because our customers (mostly yuppie hunters) would get "star struck" because they had watched the videos, even though they were loaded up in the boat, getting ready to go do the same damn thing (shoot ducks). laughing1 they're good folks though, and funny as hell to watch on the tv

Any show that ends with a family prayer around the dinner table is awesome in my book.

And I like to watch just to see what Si says next as well.

Tatata Salad. Batabalism. Pure Genius. :dblthumb: molaugh

One show on a very short list I can sit down with both of my children and watch with them. It is a good clean show, unlike much of the filth that is on now.
