I'll be working in south Georgia for the next few months and was wondering what I could do with some of my free time while i'm here. Off the top of my head these are some of the places I am going.
Albany, Bainbridge, Valdosta, Columbus area, Waycross, Savannah, Brunswick, and the Macon area.

Savannah, river street, city market, :drinkers: lots of cool history to see, ghost tours, middle of the night cemetary tours, Civil War forts. Lotsa restaurants with good :eat: If you get to go around March 14 expect one big ass party! loller.gif

The area I work at in Macon didnt seem to bad last year from what I can remember. I walked out of a hotel in Columbus that I was checking into beacuse some :afro: behind me was acting super sketchy.

I've spent some time on St. Simons Island while working and on personal vacation. Really enjoy the history of the area and I plan on spending more time checking out the Savannah area this year. Last year I ate at Bubbas restaruant (Paula Deans brother) that is right before you go across to Tybee Island. Great place to eat if you ever go back.

I can schedule my work however I want to for the most part so I might make that happen. Whats the occassion?

I meant March 17, they have the 2nd biggest St Patricks day party in the country. Lotsa flashemifyougotem and :cougar: doing some :drinkers: till they :puke: :****:

Pray that you finish before the summer

I should be working in the northern half of the state by May. I've been to Brunswick in July so I know exactly what you're talking about. That's the most miserable heat I've ever experienced.

Check out the trails off of blalock and the flint ......here are some pics of the dunes off of Oglethorpe before they shut them down....

You can get off the blalock exit and turn left. About 2/10 of a mile you can turn left and go in that area without getting in trouble. Ride all the way back to the river. Small trails for four wheelers but jeeps can fit. Be fun with a go fast four wheeler through there. Also some nasty deep holes in there and some are deeper than they look. If its not dry through there chest deep wadding through a mud hole isnt a problem pushing a floating fourwheeler....lol.

the heat and humidity are bad, but tolerable.....it's the gnats that drive me insane down there, you've got to be born there to be able to deal with them imo

Those things drive me crazy. I asked one of the locals about them and he just laughed and said what gnats.
