Wanting some input
Im looking into buying a "smaller" aluminum hull fishing boat. I like the center console models especially the g3s. Anybody have any recommendations as far as brand of boat or dealership?

Re: Re: boats and hoes

Triton makes an all al boat with center console. My dad has had ones for years. Great fishing boat

I would look real hard at backwoodslanding.com. They sell Weldbilt boats. They are stout as heck and are all welded. Weldbilts are probably one of the best values out there for aluminum boats. You can order just about any hull with a side console or center console. Then you got the G3, Triton, Alweld, Alumacraft, Polarkraft, Lund, Sea Ark, Crestliner, Tracker, Lowe, Ranger, Mirrocraft, Xtreme Boats, Excel, Xpress, War Eagle, and several others. If you are going with a center console, you will want a boat that is at least 16 feet long, 4 feet wide, all welded, and made out of at least .080 aluminum. A friend has an 1860 (18 ft x 5ft) Tacker Grizzly with a center console and a 60 horse Mercury 4 stroke. It moves along pretty good and is a solid boat.

If it were my money, I would be looking for a 1756 to an 1860 with .100 or .125 aluminum. They are heavy as hell, but take all kinds of abuse. The G3s are good boats, but I think they are a little proud of them.

Xpress or Excel. Get the hyperlift hull in the Xpress or Viper hull on the Excel. I prefer the Xpress hyperlift as it is designed more like a pad hull bass boat and rides great.

Tbi thatbthing is pretty pimp a few hotel towels on the seats and shed be ready for a booze cruise. looking more for newer small fishing boat that can be towed behind a lifted zj with ease. Going to take a gander at some g3s, a lowe, and a triton this weekend.

I have had both the G3 and the Triton boats in center consoles both boats have pro's and con's but if you don't mind the drive I would go see Wayne Roberts at S&R marine in Cookville TN for the tritons he used to carry G3 but no longer does. Tell him Doug Wheeler sent you always beats everyone else's prices.
