Emc= every man challenge good shocks dependable parts from a vendor cage that passes tech hold it wfo as much as you can!
Even the emc has some really built cars that could make a good run in the 4400 event.

Correct take a look at Eric miller's Cherokee. They sold it for 50k. So how do u compete with something like that. I would bet your looking at 15k for the trip.

If yall are serious about giving racing a try, look into ecors, dirt riot, arc's new go fast events. Try something some what local. You can get a taste of endurance racing with out breaking the bank, too bad. I promise you will spend more than you thought you ever would just prepping your rig.

Sorry to contribute to the derail.

Good luck team plow boy! Can't wait to see how it performs this go around.

One major thing most folks do not realize is what it takes to truly pass tech for a koh/ ultra event!!! I would say 90% of the south east rigs are not even close. I have been looking and reading through the rules over the past 6 moths or so, and its a major undertakeing.
The next rig that i build for myself, will be built to pass tech, at some point i want to make a shot at the koh race. It has kinda become a goal for myself, build a budget rig, qualify at one of the regional races, and then just try to finish KOH. As others have said, sorry about the threadjack.

WOD looks to be foing an awsome job on the plowboy rebuild, very excited to see it run KOH, but just as excited to see the dufference in how it performs on the hills with the new stance and suspension geometry.

Hell, I'm all about this build. I watched and watched to try and get a glimpse of the big green beast in the desert. I hope to see him onscreen and finish this year.

Irony, yes. But, the hidden costs of entry fees, campground, food, etc, etc. Fifteen grand plus all the things needed to ride sounds like a good starting point. You can get rough estimates on cheaper ultra 4 cars, parts, fuel, etc.

The reason I ask, is to get an idea for the future. I have no hobbies besides off roading and I am finally starting to make a few extra bucks. I would like to have some kind of number to get to that would at least allow me to try and compete. It wasn't supposed to derail, but I guess I did.

Now back to work, just a small number of days before the big show! Go team Plowboy, go!

From TN fuel last year was was about 1700 each way. A 6 man camper was 1100 delivered and picked up on the lake bed. Dumping the camper was 75 and water was 80 had to do that at least 1 time on the lake bed. Plus food plus any extra you spen d that's a rough quick run down. That was pulling 2 buggies and a rzr out there driving straight through.

Adam you and your guys are doing a great job on the rererebuild. See you in California

Any chance ya'll could weigh the finished axles, or have a good guess on what they weigh? I'm just curious to seeing what a built, retubed and trussed front 14 bolt with 2.5 ton outers compares to a stock front rockwell.
