FASTENAL - Best Shipping Price I Have Ever Seen !!!

Kyle, the manager of my local store here in Guntersville told me about this:

Fastenal is offering a flat rate of $75 to ship a single pallet from one Southeastern store to another. So we're talking $75 to ship 5 44s from Miami to Knoxville

That's what I was thinking. This could be a test run to see how profitable it is.

Does anyone have a direct link to this.... I'd like to propose this to my company in a bit more offical manner than a picture.

I am a loyal Fastenal customer, have been for years. I spend thousands with them yearly for Patooyee's Parts. I've used their shipping a lot. I am on a first-name basis with Ryan and Catalina and was also with Spring before them. But they've been jacking with their shipping prices recently and its pissing me off. Stuff that used to be $100 to ship is now often $175. When I call them on it they miraculously are able to come down on their price significantly. I feel like I am bargaining with them now like I would a CL ad. Now its almost always cheaper to just to go to www.freightcenter.com and I rarely use Fastenal any more. That deal is a great example of what I am talking about, too. 6 months ago they had the same exact deal for $60/pallet. BUT, before they had the $60 deal I was sending some stuff on a single pallet between SE stores for $50, no special, no sale. I understand that times change but I feel like they have gotten a taste of something good and feel like they should be priced comparable to the bigger LTL guys when their service is not equal and their prices are actually now higher. You can't track anything real-time with them whereas you can virtually every other LTL company. Most legit LTL's can get your stuff there faster and cheaper. The lack of tracking and the slow movement used to be worth it because the price was lower. But now the price is higher and they have the same deficiencies.

$75 is good no matter what though. I'm mainly referring to when there isn't a "special."
