Hope to be getting my new to me 97 f250 crew cab short bed 4wd 5 sp 7.3 out of the shop later in the week from having engine work done. It is a base model with vinyl seats and mat. The outside has gray bumpers and plastic mirrors. I borrowed a pic from mattman347 as a example. His is sharp with the chrome and I am trying to decide whether to copy it or do black bumpers, mirrors, nerf bars, and grill. Whats your opinion?

Your truck is white right?

I have always liked clean white paint and all black trim/accessories.

Never been a fan of chrome on a white truck, but thats just me.

I like white and chrome...I also like CLEAN looking factory setups. Aftermarket lights, painted trim and all that just take away from the look in my opinion. Once you get into the 3/4 ton truck world I think lifts are also pointless...I mean seriously if you buy a 3/4 ton I would assume you have something to pull (or just too much money to burn) so why would you upset the ability of your truck to fulfill its intended purpose.

Stepping off my soap box now...

I'm not a Ford guy but this is my buddy's OBS and I always thought the 2 tone schemes are sharp too.

2 things that would make this better....

#1 needs to be a chevy
#2 and the only thing id change on it would be a smoothy front bumper. Not a big fan of the little rubber strip

Imo, if the only choices are chrome or black, I'd go with chrome. All of our 1k+ work trucks here are white with black trim. It's the difference between clean factory and budget.

Yes Jamie it is white with gray/dark gray grill and gray front bumper and no rear bumper yet. The nerfs are already black so may look into blacking out most other accessories. The mirrors are the factory plastic ones that are getting swapped to older style aluminium. I have some fresh black painted or chrome/aluminium factory finish.

I agree a clean black anything is about as sexy as you can get. Also it is currently stock height and no lift is in the future, I use it and agree a lift would hinder my my towing.

The all white is out. Not a fan of everything 1color no matter the color or excessive chrome.
