Halfway decent seats on a budget

I had a set of EMPI Race Trim seats in my old rig and they were pretty good for the money but they have a fixed back. Looks like you can get a pair of the standard high backs for $280.

Are these a suspension seat? I'm starting to think I might be better off with a suspension seat. Now to convince the wife.

These are what I'm using and I'm happy with them. http://www.jegs.com/p/Scat/Procar-Terrain-Series-1620-Suspension-Seats/1782920/10002/-1

I have seen these seat for $200 a pair... The two sets I have personally been around, all the material started flaking off of quickly

They are definitely not built to the same quality standards as the Corbeau's but they're inexpensive, which is what the OP is looking for. I bet you could shop around the interwebz and find them cheaper.

Yeah, they are built almost identical to Corbeau suspension seats.

Re:

If you get the empi's hose them down with scotch guard when they are new and it will help with the covers lasting. I love mine. I am so much more planted in the seat and not sliding around all day. Males wheeling a lot less tiresome

Guess I'm going to start searching the innerwebs for deals now unless I can find a deal on some used ones. Thanks for all the advice, another reason I love this site kinder and gentler or not, I'd prefer to be told I'm an idiot than waste my money. I haven't welded in my bar for my shoulder harnesses yet so I hadn't considered the fact I wouldn't be able to recline anyway. Been putting it off because I planned on getting another set of seats anyway.

I still have a full bodied rig, for now, so the elements won't be as much of an issue as those with buggies. But good advice.

I really like my Baja SS's. I paid a hair under $400 for them I think. They fit me and I'm about as big as it will fit a person. 6' 220 lbs. I could have gotten a wider seat but I was being cheap at the time.

The 3" wide harnesses are a little too wide for my liking but they keep me inside.

Agree on corbeaus, have them in the buggy and love them, don't really care to wheel in stock seats anymore. I also prefer 2" padded harnesses for crawlin and wheelin, 3" are just too big and uncomfortable, maybe if I was running 80 mph across the desert they would be ok.

I'm thinking if I can't find any used Corbeaus JP or SS will be what I get. They are 400 shipped and the EMPI after shipping are 385 so I'm thinking I'll spend the extral 15 bucks. Now to come up with the money.

X2 pro armor 2" padded H style harness is what I run in the gremlin. My favorite harness I've ever owned for trail riding and crawling (and I've had about a dozen differnt styles and brands over the years)

Ended up picking up these Mastercraft ones tonight for a decent price. Not sure what model they are but they are in great shape and are like sitting on marshmellows. I'm thinking I'm going to like these. Even my wife likes them, now to make some mounts and put them in the heep.

I'm just glad everyone waited to kill my thread after I got some good answers. On a side note rode all day Saturday in my new seats and loved them. Ride home in the Cummins kind of sucked.
