I love my Bulldog, but he's driving us crazy. I work the midnight shift, so I sleep during the day (very little sleep). He'll bark at nothing, basically so he can come inside. We're trying a device that is bark activated. It sends out a high pitch sound that only dogs can hear. So far, he's been on and off barking all day. My next step will be a shock collar. Anyone got any ideas?

Shock collar, only thing he might not bark when you want him to after using the shock collar.

Mine bark at the wind.
We use this and it works well when the batteries are fresh.
Sunbeam Ultrasonic Egg Dog Bark Control Device

I'm trying one of ultrasonic devices now. We're only using it when he's in his kennel, which is freakin huge......1/3 of our backyard. Our other dogs.....no problem with them at all.

If he barks to get inside I'm assuming he's a indoor and outdoor dog why not just get a dog door
Best way to teach a dog is to beat the **** out of them one good time then they know your the alpha it's natural selection at it's finest

You don't have to beat the **** out of them to teach them you're the alpha dog. Just hold them down on the floor and lay on top of them. Talk to them in a calm deep non-threatening voice right in their ear the whole time you're holding them down. They will try and get up a few times, but don't let them. When they quit trying to get up, you let them get up. Do this a couple of times every day and they will get the message in a few days. Also, spit in their food before you give it to them. Basically you are showing them that you control them, not the other way around and the pack leader always eats first. I know this sounds like bullshit, but it works. Dogs understand this ****. I was taught this 15 years ago by a guy who teaches championship Labrador retrievers and it really does work.

Take them for walks, and make sure you walk them and they aren't walking you. Don't let them stop to piss on anything until you're ready to stop, make the walk behind you, and don't even let them sniff the ground. You're the leader, they don't choose when to do anything. I never heard of spitting in their food, but when training I'd make them sit and wait while I was filling the bowl, and wouldn't let them eat until I actually said eat. That worked so well that my American bulldog will sit looking at his food for hours if I forget to tell him to eat lol. Also don't leave their food accessible all the time, they won't need you if they can eat whenever they feel like it.

Poor guy sat for 10 minutes waiting to eat this juicy burger lol

I've been pretty close to that. I've found that a one pump BB shot in the dirt about 5ft. in front of her works well.

I take it your bloodhound LOVES to bark too?? Lol

Handsome pup, i miss my bulldog.
So Adam, when do you want me to drop off my pups for training?

This, if the above fails.

I had one one time I could not get to stop barking. If he was awake, he would bark. Finally got tired of it and asked the vet to take his vocal chords out. Vet told me he would not do it. I said fine, I would like to board him for a week. About 4 days later, the vet called to schedule the surgery. Dog still barked every waking hour, but no sound came out.

Dog was good for a few years, then snapped in the face of someone sitting on the sofa at our house. Let's just say the dog got relocated.

Never have another Manchester Terrier. Damn Doberman with Napoleon Syndrome.

exactly!!!! Miniature Pinchers are the worst dogs on EARTH!!!!!

Took a little time but got this one to stop barking at everything at night...biggest help was closing blinds while sleeping so he couldn't see out.
