I changed my transmission filter yesterday and it had 3 bolts going through it instead of 2 which seems to be the norm for this transmission based on how hard it was to find the same filter I took out. Does anyone else have a 3 bolt filter in a TH350 or does mine have the wrong one in it? The other thing I found odd was that you have to bend the corner of the filter up to get the pan back on. Below is a link to a picture of the filter and pan that I have.

My cousin has the same transmission and his is a 2 bolt. I ordered a 2 bolt filter off Summit before I pulled the pan down and found mine had 3. From what I found online the 2 bolt is pretty common. If mine is good the way it is then :driving: ! Otherwise I'd like to get it fixed up the right way.

Did some more research yesterday after posting and almost positive it's the same as a Chrysler 727 filter. Will confirm after I run by napa tomorrow afternoon.

I was told once by my transmission Doctor that it was an old Chrysler filter, most likely the 727. B&M used it with their deep sump pans.

Finally got by napa and picked up the filter kit. It's a direct match. Hopefully this will save someone some head ache later on.
