Can I notch frame rail?

Hey guys, I bought scjustin's buggy and trying to add back seats. I could install them as is, adding roll cage to mount them to of course, but that would be pretty tight on leg and head room. So I'm considering notching the frame rail by about 2" to get more leg and head room. Is this idiotic? How would you do it? I'm a newbie and appreciate any advice. Also I'm in Austin, TX if you know anyone who's a fab welder.

Thank you!

Where are you located? Lots of guys on here willing to help a feller out for little monies, sometimes just beer and camaraderie. :drinkers:

I'm in Austin TX! I'd love to meet guys, and I have monies and beers to entice.

My plan as of last night is to NOT notch the frame rails, not move the upper roll cage higher....for now. Just mount the seats the best I can and take it for a few rides to see. That way I don't do anything permanent. I've never even ridden this thing yet!

With as progressive as Austin has become you shouldnt have any trouble meeting guys . . . . . Lol

Seriously though kryptonite kustoms is south of you.

Look up Javier Padron on Facebook and YouTube. He and a couple other guys live in your area

Hmm, I'll be taking note of this as well, for future reference.

Lol. Speaking of white shadow and sleeps on the toilet, when you gonna post up in trail rides or wheeling runs a big invite ?

Or just PM

We are headed to Burris next weekend then hot springs in December then wolf caves in January then Clayton in February

Ill PM you whenever our next trip is. The squirrel had a little mishap at Gilmer a couple weeks ago and my coilovers are on their way to Accutune for a rebuild. PSA: Always tighten your jam nuts before a wheeling trip.

Thanks guys! Kryptonite looks a little far away for me (Bossier City LA) but I reached out to Javier to see is there's a good fab/welder in Austin.

I could have sworn kryptonite was near Houston for the longest time or a bit north of it.

I wheeled with a group of guys that had some kryptonite rigs at hot springs and I thought for sure they said they hang out there and such. All of them were from the Houston area.

Maybe I misunderstood. A couple other jokers here aren't that far from you relatively speaking
