Curious if anyone has feedback on these. I bought an enclosed and with it hooked to my truck, the tailgate won't be able to be opened. Can't access trailer battery door either . it's close and a few inches back would fix the issue I'm sure. Example of what I'm talking about is in link below. I have a long bed truck. Hooked to a friends shortbed there was a ton of room for tailgate to be opened. The trade off would be the trailer would hit his cab if turned really sharp.

Haven't used one of those but my uncles truck is a swb and turning sharp wasn't an option so he got an offset ball for the hitch. Moved it back a few inches and made a world of difference. I'd do the same to mine but whoever installed mine home built it and it just screws into a plate. That piece in the link you shared would work good for me.

I had that exact extension on my 36' enclosed that I pulled with my short bed dodge. No issues or problems. Gave me way more turning clearance, Used it for 2 years and sold it with trailer that also was going to tow with a short bed truck. I would do it again if needed.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I noticed they all are for short-beds which makes sense so the trailer doesn't hit the cab. My issue is opposite though. I have a long bed and feel this is too close. I had to put the tailgate down, then back up before I could back up to the ball. I could live with that if I had to I guess. However. I can't access the trailer battery area either when I am hooked up. That COULD be an issue if I ever had a battery die or something like that. I have never owned an enclosed so maybe this is all "normal".

I don't see why it wouldn't work with a LB. I have a couple different horse trailers and a 40' GN toy hauler and while its close my tailgate will lay down. (17 Duramax dually) Its about 4 or 5" from the trailer though. Could be the way the trailer is made or the hitch. Looks like you have B&W. Could try one of these.....but 4" might not be enough for you. https://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Ball/B-and-W/BWGNXA4585.html?feed=npn&gclid=CjwKCAjw68zZBRAnEiwACw0eYbZkYTz6H_EpT-qwIvEFuerC8m8QaP4sWWmwU_4iaZKj7gXyYURdORoC27cQAvD_BwE

I never liked the idea of the long neck extension because of the leverage but a lot of people have them so they must be ok.

I've been pulling a 40 foot enclosed with a that same one plus a 4" extension for the ball for years now. Have had zero issues.
Only way I could keep it out of the cab on my short bed.
