LineX or Rhinoliner?

My father in laws old truck was arm coated and it peeled off, mabey it was just the retards that put it on, I don't know.

Didn't realize what I was starting here! But keep the comments coming, I might just change my mind.

I would have to vote for the Rhino, I have known friends with both the LineX and the Arma and both seem to be to hard and not flexible(or forgiving) enough. For what you are trying to do the rhino would "give" alittle and return where the others will not and would make a little bump seem like a big disaster.

Just my .02 Course I am biased since all of my rigs have had rhino:D

they will both rip. My tailgate has some small chunks taken out of it (rhino). But I hear (and have seen) when the linex starts to peel. It takes off a really big section. But the Rhino in the bed of my truck seems to be much thicker then any linex I've seen, or the coating they put on my tailgate. It'll work great for sticks and brush and crap.. But nothin's going to save you on the rocks.

I used X-tream liner on my truck and seems real hard...,,,it was also cheaper than Rhino.......they say its better....but of course they would say that..might work for your application.......the colors cost more though.

Whats funny is every brand has the same adhesion(sp) property's and every brand that is the weak link. It boils down to what kind of surface you want. rhino/armothane are the same/soft and then you have the line x type thats harder/abrasive. And my line x peeled at the back a bit last night loading the camper in the dodge

Another vote for: "Don't do it". Your rig looks sweet and will continue to look good even with some scrapes and dings in it. The body damage acquired on the trail is just something our hobby requires. I think you would be pissed if the next time you scrape a tree a huge piece of bed liner now covers the ground instead of your rig.
However, if you do decide to do it make sure you go through a place that does give you some kind of warranty.

i've worked for rhino linings, and i can tell you that it's hands down better than line-x. the material quality is better, and rhino sprays a bit thicker. we did more than a few trucks that had line-x liners in them already, but they were so thin and crappy that we scraped out what was left and re-sprayed with rhino. you'll be much happier with rhino, guaranteed.

I saw your rig at the cleanup and both me and my buddy who was with me was drooling over it.. it's a very beautiful rig and even with trail honor badges, it will continue to be a beautiful rig.

Nothing you can really do about body damage in this sport, save being a pavement princess.

But, if you are going to go with a spray on liner for your sides, check the warranty and make sure you get something that's going to stay somewhat flexible, otherwise you'll risk the cracking and chipping.. as stated before.

I'd like to get the inside of my jeep tub rhino-lined or armocoated. I did some roll on bedliner myself about 5 years back and it's held up.. but wouldn't mind something a little thicker.

Thanks Jeepfreak. I'm starting to lean towards not doing it. I don't mind the body damage. Just thought it would both look good and hold up better than the paint. I kinda need the dents anyway. I get alot of **** when I pull up in that rig. I might need some more obvious dents.:D

H3RESQ,

Its a good posting. I recently made the mistake of getting my toyo painted a macco and a dust flake chips this paint! My rear fender stock flares seem to get some pretty hefy rock chips and I've been looking at getting my truck coated with rhino liner or similar.

I figured it would hold up but from reading this it doesn't seem so well. However I was also thinking about adding rock sliders to the truck so I'd assume that would fix the hard scraping damage would in turn would keep the lining in good condition?

I did this with the sliders. Somehow I found the wrong/right rock to still trash my rockers even with sliders! This would have definitially chiped a liner!

So is line-x. Personally i say dont do it. It wont do what you want, it will cost you $$ and you will regret it some day AND it will make yer lightweight:)haha: ) rig weight more.

Lightweight? 6000lb. I've decided against it although I'm still enjoying the thread. This should be helpful to others in the future. I'm not so worried about it peeling just that I've decided it wouldn't look very good. Especially if it turned pink. All the scuffs in my powdercoated(red) bumpers are looking kinda pinkish!

My line-x bed(part of it) I didnt do this damage, But its there plane as day.

Looks like you got some room to add/modify those sliders to make them a little more effective at protecting... Not saying your set up is bad, hell its much better than what i got.

i just talked to rhinoliner guy and he said my standard cab floorboard would co$t about 500 bones. :wtf: i would rather have NO floorboards, like the fking flintstones.
