    Camping on the Lake Bed.......!?!?!?!

X2 on the tents sucks thing Clark, if the wind is blowing, it is way worse than you can imagine. We stayed the last couple years with a friend in his Motorhome; 2 years ago the wind was so bad that the MH was swaying a foot or two to one side (at least it seemed that bad :D). It is also a...

    Sammy Power

Yes, you need to swap axles, the stock Sami stuff barely holds its own with the 1.3s and 1.6 swaps, anything bigger is asking for broken parts. 1.6 is a nice easy weekend swap and not too bad on the pocket book if you can find a good engine at a decent price. 2.0 is a decent swap too, call...

    largest tire on yota axles?

Nope, pretty sure I meant 5+ gears; that covers the 5.71s as well as the 5.29s.

    largest tire on yota axles?

Have your diffs put together by someone who knows what they are doing and the 5+ gearsets will be OK. Pay good hard cash or bribe someone with beer or liquor, either way get it done right.

    Big tire snow run..........

Odie, Todd from Aqualu is talking about bringing his big FJ40 down for a snow run mid Jan. Let me know when you have a firm day and I'll pass the word along. Tommy B.... better bring down that battery and fuel pump, your rig will fit this trip. :flipoff:

    D60 Gears

Bunk, you can lock the ARB in while moving, just don't have the wheels spinning at different speeds, so basically let off the gas. No need to stop. Seizing the gears to the crosspin isn't caused by locking in under throttle. I'd need to see the crosspin to make a call, but it wouldn't be from...

    D60 Gears

So how far do you take your line of thought? Manual trans- No extra fluid lines or cooler to worry about. All those internal clutch plates, bands and servos to have a CHANCE failure.... D60 Gears

This scares me a bit too, but with the case being damaged, some grinding to fit a new part to a damaged part would need to be done. Just have a case on order and when they get them in, pick one up to have installed when you get a chance. That's true, but I still have my hookups there and you...

    D60 Gears

Rick, .002" is fine on runout and you'll be hard pressed to find any new diff, ARB or other brand, that has .000" or even .001" runout. The ring gear will also be a little out and have a high and low spot. Find the high spot on one and the low spot on the other and fit them together and you'll...

    Trail Tools care

Spray a couple rags with some WD40, not soak, just a good heavy spray, and then wrap the tools in the rags. You have lubed tools and rags that'll help clean greasey stuff up and the rags will help keep them from making too much noise. And yeah, in an ammo box to keep them dry. :D

    Thoughts & Ideas

x2.... 63"s is about the narrowest you can comfortably go with TJ bracketry on the front end. Spidertrax stuff is definitely very, very nice, but they are the first ones to say their knuckles are for competition use and they're not sure how much they would reccomend them for the street due to...
